I visited Vanuatu a couple of weeks ago - I love to experience the dining experience wherever I go. So I got a bus out to Tamanu ($50 AUS) only to find that it's been closed since the cyclone in March. No indication on tripadvisor that the place is closed. So for that, I give you 1 star, and would... More

We have had on our website that we have been closed since the Cyclone Pam in March. As is the case in dining experiences around the world... it is always best to call to make a reservation. If you had called, you would have not wasted a trip. More

We visited in June 2015 and this was still closed for repairs from the cyclone. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon as I've heard good things, but just wanted to put this review here so that you will realize that a lot might change during the renovations, etc so the below reviews might not reflect the new... Tamanu is a little bit out of town so expect a 30 minute trip from the town centre. If you ask the restaurant to organise your travel, expect a price of 2000 Vatu (and double that for the return journey as well). Alternatively, you may be able to negotiate a better price with a passing bus or taxi. Located on... More

We decided to hire a car for two days to drive around Efate (this would be my absolute number 1 must do when on Efate as you see so much when you can just stop wherever you want to as opposed to doing a tour) and decided that while we had a car, it was the perfect time to make... More

We called in at Tamanu on the Beach just as the sun was setting. After chatting with the friendly manager, Virginia, we ordered a couple of glasses of champagne. As it was such a lovely evening and the setting was pretty, we sat outside and enjoyed them as the sun went down. It's a lovely setting but we were both... More

A MUST do in Port Vila. Tamanu on the Beach is in a class of its own when it comes to amazing food in a breath taking location. It is one of the best places you will eat in Port Vila.

Read the reviews so decided to make the trip to try it out. The restaurant is situated right on the beach with magnificent views out to the pacific. The local beef and tuna were both excellent and the service was great. Prices were usual for Vanuatu and would definitely recommend it .

Beautiful location - a bit of a drive but well worth it. White sand beach. Absolutely amazing food and beverages. Great customer service. Very romantic location especially the bridal suite.

Staying here was simply a joy....coral walls and gorgeous outlook..total bliss! Very clean and lovely staff. The restaurant was nice albeit expensive..but then we found that all over vanuatu..which is a shame as it makes you think twice about vanuatu as a holiday destination. The locals are and absolute delight....I will come back simply for their beautiful genuine smiles. The... More
