Lunch - often interesting and great value for money!

We have been taking advantage of the 'menu of the day' at Amadeus for a while now. At 2500XFP for three courses it is among the best value -- quality -- meals in Noumea. Today we had a quail starter and then salmon for the main. The dishes are never huge, but well presented with great flavours and... read more

Went into Amadeus for a long, long lunch and it didn't disappoint. The food over the three course lunch was absolutely spectacular. The wine list that accompanies the menu is diverse and interesting and we selected a fabulous French rose which went perfectly with our lunch. The quality of the food was outstanding; the portion size was large but not... More

Located only 100m from the Hilton and within walking distance of all major hotels at Anse Vate Beach we ate at Amadeus. My daughter is a vegetarian and with no vegetarian dishes on the menu the Chef came out and discussed with Selina what she liked and then produced a handmade tagliatelle and spinach starter and eggplant based dish for... Arrived at booked time - booking clearly marked in their book but no table left. Instead of seating us at the bar, they left us standing in the middle of the restaurant whilst they hurriedly put together a table. The house entree specialty - lobster ravioli was sold out by 7:30. I choose the lobster carpaccio which was nearly twice... More

Chef went to the trouble of sorting out my vegetarian friend and all our dishes were excellent. Crayfish raviolli as a starter was supurb My husband had the duck and I had the veal and would recommend this place highly. Expensive as main and entree plus a bottle of wine cost $160 per couple

Pleasantly surprised by the French service style. Ordered lobster ravioli for starters to share and we were served two separate plates even though we shared the starters. Duck was cooked so well I would like to spy on the chef. Skin was crispy but still moist and tender. Also had veal but preferred the duck. Mashed potatoes, faultless. Creme brulee... More

We were staying at the Hilton which is only ten metres away from Amadeus and it defiantly surpassed all expectations. The large sign out the front doesn't actually have the restaurant name on it and we must have passed it half a dozen times without realising prior. The food was delicious and we were served very quickly. The mains were... More

We stopped in here on our first night staying at Le Lagon Hotel, which is next door. Too tired to walk looking for something else we just walked in no reservation and no expectations - we just wanted to eat and go back to the hotel to sleep with minimal effort. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the mains and... More

Amadeus is almost next door to our hotel, Le Lagon, so we popped in without a booking on a Friday night. We got served reasonably quickly but people who arrived 5 minutes after us took 30 minutes to get their pre-dinner drinks. We were happy right up to asking for l'addition - took about 45 minutes from clearing plates to... More
