French food in the Pacific

We paid $A160 for a two course meal with a modest wine for two people. My husband enjoyed the New Zealand oysters and the cassoulet St Julien with prawns. I enjoyed the local mahi mahi fish in mustard sauce, although I don't eat mushrooms and the sauce had finely sliced mushrooms in it. My husband... read more

The food (and the welcome) at Miretti reminded my partner and I of eating at my parents or our relatives' homes in Europe. The food is wholesome, unassuming (read: not fancy), and plentiful. We were able to share an entree moules mariniere between two of us and a ridiculously large main each (my cassoulet could have come home to Melbourne... More

Slightly off the main Anse Vata beach area this homely place offers a good range of traditional options. It seems to be run by a very efficient group of women who are gradually improving the ambience of the place. Make sure that someone in your group has the duck.

We booked this restaurant after reading reviews on tripadvisor. The food was lovely..I had salmon and my husband had veal. the service was reasonably quick as the tables were filling quickly. The location was around the corner from Le Parc in rue Laroque, so 5 mins walk. The atmosphere was pleasant and we had an enjoyable meal. We will return... More

We're queues out the door these past days so had to try it. Wasn't let down by the seafood or wine. Nice energy and food service. Good price too 👍

Another guest at our hotel recommended this restaurant and we in turn have recommended it to 2 more guests! Nice little resturant, quiet, hospitable and fabulous food. Great value, for 4 is it was about aud$140 with drinks and mains. Easy walk from chateau royal beach. Enjoy!

This rather unassuming (homely) little restaurant may be a bit difficult to locate. Tucked away off the main strip, it would be easy to walk past, but any effort made to get there is well rewarded. The venue has an intimate (homely) vibe and although it got very busy later on (cue, remember to book) it was never intrusive. Le... More

Oh, what a fantastic dinner we had there! Everything was cooked to perfection that's all I can say. The only downside - we couldn't find what days the restaurant was open and I don't think it has a website with open hours and menu. But if you are lucky and it's open, do go in!

We visited Le Miretti based on the recommendation of a local resident. We had a look at Trip Advisor to find that it was not one of the highest rated restaurants in Noumea so our expectations were modest. The service was very prompt and we were seated at a nice table and ordered Desperado beers that we had not encountered... More

I eat here whenever I visit Noumea, and always take a guest. The food is very french and the experience is unique. It is a must if you want to try southern french cuisine, including frogs legs and snails! Try the Cafe des Dieux too if you are game
