the food was great the position is great. Service lets it down. Had the fish of the day which was one of the best meals we have had in New Caledonia. The wine list is good. $$$

Le Roof's location and concept are great but that is where the positives stop. We thought we would try Le Roof one night as it was close to our hotel well that was a mistake. My wife, daughter and I had one of the worst times we have had at a restaurant. We asked to modify the children's menu as... More

Unfortunately my partner and I booked dinner here for New Year's Eve, despite fears that it would be too touristy and overpriced - as the atmosphere, proximity to our accommodation and the festivities on the beach seemed promising. We should have trusted our initial instinct...the food was by far the worst we have had during our stay, and triple the... More

this poor try to be classy ambience, this chief who has obviously misunderstood what 5 star cooking is about (well, that's what they charge for)... niece ambience, but you're better off to enjoy a meal at your hotel. What is all this in NC about? It's not charming, it's a bloody money machine (since mining was introduced). Try the better... More

While not an inexpensive place to eat The Roof was so good we went back. The service was great, and the food top notch, though some main courses were smaller portions, and if you are having 3 courses with aperitifs and a bottle of wine this will cost ~ $150 USD pp. What really made our night was watching the... Food course here was great and the staff very attentive, and a great wine list. Had the added bonus of a sea view and for two hours a wild dolphin was hunting and playing beneath and though you'll need a high speed camera to catch a good shot it was highly visible and highly entertaining! As with most of New... More

We should have known when we first arrived and there had been - in their words - an "error" with our booking that it wasn't going to be great. Starting with the positives, the location is beautiful, it really is a lovely setting to enjoy a meal....shame the meal wasn't worth enjoying! Our wait staff were disinterested almost to the... Stumbled in without a reservation , wasn't overly busy, food was sensational and service great. Dined with dolphins and jumping fish adding to the experience.

I really enjoyed sitting by the open water and watching the sharks swimming below me . This was the main reason we went and I'm probably pleased I did. I don't know if I can justify the expense though it cost us 350 aud , we had one entree , a main each and shared a desert , I had... More

We went here for our second to last night in Noumea and so happy we did. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was great and we got seated next to the hole in the middle of the restaurant so we could watch the fish swimming around under us, without having booked. Admittedly the food is expensive, but not unusually so... More
