Great atmosphere but very expensive

We visited on a quiet Sunday evening. It was quite empty so we got to sit by the opening and could see the fish in the sea below. The food was good quality but very expensive and the wines were ridiculously priced. A bottle of Moët was FIVE times what we buy it for in the super market. The... read more

The food here was just superb and the setting over the water was fantastic book early to get a table by the fish feeding glass floor

We took two children (7&5) and they had the best kids meals of our entire trip - they were genuinely beautifully cooked and presented and you have to respect a restaurant which puts real effort into a part of the process which probably does not create much revenue or appreciation. They were quite reasonably priced as well. All the food... More

We went on recommendation from reading Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed! Yes it is expensive BUT it was totally worth it. We went for dinner and were sitting at a table watching fish swim by in the illuminated water whilst eating delightful and interesting food that was executed beautifully. All this and the attentive service made it a... More

Smart restaurant, great service, fine food at top end prices. Enjoyed the variety on the menu ... Try the chef specials ... 'Frayed Ray' and 'curried parrot fish'. A good place to go to recalibrate your taste buds ... Especially if you have been to some disappointing restaurants in the previous few days.

Live entertainment from the opened up floor meant you could see the coral and fish below the restaurant while you ate, the night lights attracting the fish in close. Food was very a la carte. But also very nice. Recommended to go there in the evenings during the dark. Nice end to our holiday. Stiff spoke English so no communications... More

Le Roof is a modern french restaurant with something for all tastes. Sitting out over the water in Anse Vata, there is even a cutout inside the restaurant giving practical every table a waterside view. It is a little on the pricy side, but so is the rest of the island. The wine list is impressive but exorbitantly priced. The... More

You just dine here. The setting and atmosphere is amazing. The resturant is set out in the ocean and the floors are open and you can see over the deck if you done outside. We saw lots of fish and a school of sharks. Heaps of excitement. The decor is great. Service is fantastic, staff were just lovely. The food... More

On first impression....location is amazing along a very well maintained jetty over crystal water with lights showcasing 10 giant fish that look like mahi mahi!! The interior looks new and the excitement of having an open floor to see the fish swimming past is a real crowd pleaser. The staff are as outstanding as the decor. Sadly the food and... More

Le Roof is a unique dining experience. If one is in the tourist beach area of Noumea you really can't afford to miss this experience . Good food and a wonderful; wine list and absolutely superior service but admittedly a bit pricey . Go at night with the lights on the ocean , with dog fish and others swirling about... More
