This was an excellent choice since it was by far the best food we had on the entire trip. The restaurant was reasonably fancy. We ordered the menú degustación or tasting menu. It was an 8-course meal, beautifully presented with every plate as delicious as the last. It cost approximately $65/person (USD) and was well worth it as an equivalent... More

Nice restaurant in North Bogotá. Very good food, you can see it is made with care and with good ingredients. Wine list is not really that good though. The service is very good also. Overall a good experience, though pricey. I would go again.

This was one of the best meals abroad I have ever had. The service was impeccable, the food perfectly prepared, the decor is lovely. Do not miss the dessert soup!

Lots of hype, but did not live up to it. If you're a "gringo" (which I heard multiple times from staff that didn't know I understood Spanish), there are plenty of better options in this great city. Food was lack luster and the seafood dishes had a less than fresh smell. Had to comment on the use of wine that... More

Loved everything about this meal. The Carota dish (lobster tail served with a carrot-stuffed ravioli over a coconut lemongrass sauce) is unbelievable! Service is extremely attentive and impeccable. Highly recommend, especially for a special occasion meal.

We decided to try Matiz since it was mentioned in every article we read about visiting Bogota, and it was very close to our hotel. We made a reservation and arrived to a romantic table next to the wall of gently falling water. Both the meal and the service were excellent. We ordered appetizers and main dishes from the regular... Finally a restaurant in Bogotá that delivers what was expected. What was nice was the understated, professional, somewhat classic service without pretension. Dishes ranged from good to excellent on the tasting menu. There were flashes of flair and the meal ended on a high note with a complex but well conceptualised orange and chocolate plate. The greeting from the chef... More

The interior of Matiz makes you feel right at home. What probably helped was the seating under the fountain and impeccable restrooms. The salmon muse was perfect and we we're just in time of changing the very extra dry champagne for a softer Sauvignon Blanc. We shared two appetizers and I would have scored the restaurant a perfect 10: my... More

The chef was wonderful and very nice to us. He accommodated all of our requests regarding our meal and the wine selection was fantastic. I've been to several places all over the world to eat their sampling menu, and usually you get 1 or 2 spectacular dishes and the rest is OK. At Matiz, 5 of the 6 dishes were... More
