Pleasant Surprise

I have traveled to Bogota, Colombia for many years and stayed in the restaurant zone. On Saturday, August 23 I stepped into 69 Oyster Bar. I started with the steamed mussels in a white wine sauce. I was offered shaved yucca or french fries as an accompaniment. I had never that steamed mussels with... read more

our meal started with the head chef coming to our table and helping us decide on our appetizers. we were all a little hesitant when she said we should try the grilled octopus. we took her advice and ordered it and it was nothing less than spectacular. the entire meal followed this way. The chef is a very proud woman... More

The ambiance at 69 Oyster Bar is intimate and romantic and the food is out of this world amazing. The seafood is fresh and delicious, like on the coast fresh which is pretty remarkable since Bogota is in the mountains. We started with the tuna tartare and split an order of mussels which was absolutely delicious. The oysters are pricey... More

When my husband and I first moved to Bogota, in February 2014, we entered this restaurant totally by chance. That was pure flair! We have returned ever since for its splendid cuisine (strong on fish but there are many other options), its inventive lady chef who speaks perfect French, its waiters who always welcome you like an old friend, its... This is one of my personal favorites in Bogota. It is a restaurant run by a traveled colombian chef specialized in tuscan cuisine. His sterak florentine is by far the best in town and perractically the entire menu is worth ordering.

Very nice restaurant, excellent food and friendly staff. The restaurant owner usually will stop by your table to chat and to make your food was cooked to your satisfaction. The freshness of the food was outstanding. The restaurant is centrally located with many other dinning options nearby.

We will definitely be back. My shrimp with lime cream and brandy were amazing. My husbands tuna with a tangerine and red pepper sauce was also very good. We look forward to exploring the menu more and trying out other things.

We stayed in Bogota for four days and were impressed with the quality of restaurants on offer but the food here was a cut above everything else we experienced. A warm, friendly welcome was followed by the personal attention of the chef, Raphael, who in English, offered his recommendations which were gratefully received. We enjoyed grilled palm hearts in a... More

I stayed at the embassy suites nearby (will review this amazing hotel as well!) and wandered with my date along the street to this restaurant. We didn't feel like the steakhouse across the way, nor teriyaki, fried chicken, or the place that my date said was similar to Applebee's or TGI Friday's, which were all also nearby. We went in...
