Old world Austro-Hungarian charm, excellent service , decent food

The location - close to my hotel (consulado), seems very centrally located. Felt safe walking streets around restaurant. The decor - old world European charm. I felt like I stepped back in time - like back to the 50's in Germany or Austria. The service - excellent. Very attentive... read more

This restaurant is a haven of peace in hectic La Paz. I thought that the dark wood furniture and multiplicity of pictures and objects created a harmonious middle European ambience. The food was well presented and cooked if not very adventurous. On 28th January we had an excellent piano accompaniment to our meal. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The Vienna is very close to our hotel - the Europa - and entering this restaurant you feel like you have travelled back to Europe. A classic menu with international but also with bolivian dishes. I choose the spicy bolivian chicken which was tasty but not very spicey. My partner choose the elephant ear - a huge flat breaded schnitzel... More

I liked the place but it seems like a senior style. The service is great and fast. Their menu is vary, I tried the salmon and I can't complain it was well served.

The bolivian wine they suggested was very good, The Prawns wrapped with bacon was not up to the mark. Bacon was chewy, not crispy. They could work on this for sure. Steak was as per order, very well done, the mashed potato was sad :( What it takes to make a simple mash potato appealing?? The staff were very attentive,... More

My German wife was craving German or Austrian food, so we went to The Vienna. We had a good avocado, tomato and hearts of palm salad and the roasted pork knuckle with potato salad and sauerkraut. A young woman played classical music on the piano which was quite soothing. And they even did not allow diners to talk on their... More

If you are looking for Bolivian dishes in an wonderful ambience, it's the place to go. They have international cuisine as well in case your company doesn't like spicy food. The Bolivian 'sajta' is excellent with tuntas, dried potatoes. And on Sundaya they have the traditional 'chairo' Very good service, trained by the owner, a gastronom.

My son and I had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Vienna. The menu offerings could satisfy any palate. We were served by a wonderful waiter who was attentive yet not smothering. The meal was delicious.
