Description: Cafe-restaurant Sol y Luna is a Dutch owned and managed bar/restaurant....
Cafe-restaurant Sol y Luna is a Dutch owned and managed bar/restaurant. Because we have 4 areas, we can cater for several occasions. When you enter the restaurant it might look small, and around dinner time fully booked, but we do have a bigger non smoking restaurant area at the back upstairs. Downstairs we have the pool area with the possibility to have some drinks or a meal on comfy couches. If you carry on from there you will find our projector room for sports and presentations. You can come in to watch some sport on the flat screen TV's, read a book from our book exchange, check the internet via our free Wi-Fi or plan what the next leg on your journey will be with help from our reference guidebook collection. During big and important sport matches we will turn our upstairs area in to a real sport cinema with a beamer projecting the game on a massive screen and we get the sound through the sound system!!

Local and Dutch food in the middle of La Paz.

That's a surprise. We heard from some other backpackers that they have some Dutch food/snacks at their menu. So. We went over there. "Bitterballs"! A typical Dutch snack. Try it. They have several good dishes. Good Staff and free WIFI. Good price - food ratio. While we were eating we heard some... read more

We went for drinks and free wifi. Wifi doesn't really work. Beer was OK, but don't get the Ted's local beer. It was the worst beer we've had. Didn't try any of the food.

We went in once for a beer and returned the next night for a meal. Very good, efficient staff and the food is great. I had pasta and my son had goulash and both were really good. I hate tepid food and both meals were piping hot. The beer is excellent as they serve different types of local beer. I... More

Found in the lonely planet, this Dutch place is very welcoming for a Dutchy. After months of horrible coffee, the coffee here is great. As is the food. Even for non-Dutchies. We took about 6 friends and we all loved the food. The service is very good too. And the owner is there to have a chat. There is also... More

Went here 3 nights for dinner because the food was good and the service friendly. Price was higher than elsewhere in Bolivia but very reasonable for La Paz' standards. Best of all: the apple pie! We are from Holland ourselves so we have had good apple pie before, but this was the best ever! Definite must-try!

We ended up coming here twice. Once for drinks only and dessert. We had local beer (quinoa beer!) and ate by candle light. The place was cool too. They had a library and cool decorations. We came a second time for dinner. We had an even better experience because the food was delicious. The menu was international without being heavy... More

We decided to have dinner here on our last night in la paz for something quick but reliable. I had the black quinoa risotto which was a bit too cheesy for me but came with some good veggies on the side. My bf had a goulash which was pretty yummy. It was pretty busy when we were there and the... More

We came here late in the evening. Arriving from a 4h journey from Copacabana, we decided to pop in for a late dinner before catching our flight out of La Paz. The staff was very nice and accommodated us right away not even caring about our big backpacks with us. Very comfortable/chill seating area with candle light. They had a... More

We had breakfast here and can honestly say it was amazing. We ditched our hotel breakfast as it was horrible and came here. For 35bolivianos each we had eggs ham cheese toast & a fresh baguette, and the best yogurt & muesli. The OJ was fresh too! Great coffee. We highly recommend this place. We will be back for sure!

Not far from Iglesia San Francisco. Cosy with candles on tables and relaxed music. The service was very good and the food also. I had Phillipino chicken and a delicious chocolate mousse with brazil nuts in it. They are also very generous with the glasses of wine.
