I have to say I prefer Jardin de Asia better, however service here was ACE. It was friendly, personal and very professional service, with good wine and food recommendations. However, I personally don't really like trout and they didn't have any salmon or tuna sushi so it was a bummer. Gyozas were good, and the meat teppanyaki was good (is... More

Given the trend of sushi restaurants in latin america, La Paz despite being in the altitude of this landlocked country is no exception. As such, it is refreshing to find an authentic japanese place in the Bolivian capital. Even if they of course have sushi, it is everything else they have that really shines. Katsu chicken in various forms was... More

There are a bunch of options if you have a craving for japanese food in La Paz. They are all pretty good considering you are in south america. If i had to pick one I would recommend FURUSATO because of the overall quality of what it offers (food, location and service).

I was recommended Furusato by a Japanese friend when I moved to La Paz. It never disappointed. Furusato has the perfect mix of simple flavors, true to traditional flavors. Do not expect much adventurous fusion flavors, but expect quality and the most possible freshness allowed in a landlocked country. Always consistent with their quality and flavor, something not particularly common... More

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Furusato at the beginning of march 2013. We are French and Italian and, after almost 2 weeks traveling around Peru and Bolivia, we were absolutely fed up with peruvian and bolivian cuisine, which is for the sake of true, a really poor and not tasty cuisine. We were very surprised to find such... More

The service is horrible, the sushi is off. The place was extremely clean but had a horrible fishy smell. The sushi portion was very small and the quality wasn't there. Wasn't fresh. Go to WAGAMAMA in sopacachi, if u need to eat Japanese food. 100% more

We ate here 4 times in our 11 days in La Paz, a refreshing break from local cuisine. Try the local trout over salmon to save on food miles and much cheaper. Low traditional table downstairs is different and makes for a nice private dining experience. Staff friendly with a sense of humour. Local wines were worth trying and reasonable... More

Went here for our anniversary meal, as one of our favourite cuisines is Japanese. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, in an authentic Japanese design and seems that all the furniture and decor has been imported especially. The service was very good and menu pretty varied considering we are in a landlocked country in south america. The... More

At the tail end of three weeks travelling, husband is craving for some measure of Asian foods (we are from California, so we know our sushi). Furusato does not dissapoint. Very nice homey but classic ambiance and taste at par with good CA standard. We ordered trout sushi teishoku and chicken yakitori teishoku. Price very reasonable compare with home, five... More
