We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday in April and it was almost empty. We ate upstairs and service was quick if not terribly knowledgeable about the menu. Our meals were split. The club-type sandwich was simply terrible: some kind of pressed ham chunks...of tomato, wilted lettuce and hard boiled eggs on the plainest white bread imaginable. But then the pasta with the Donato signature sauce was terrific. It was a peanut based sauce with rehydrated llama jerky (charky), sprinkled with fresh parmesan. We both focused on the pasta and left the sandwich alone.More

We knew this place was going to be a touristy meal from the menu - but we wanted something quick and easy. The location on Calle linares is great, and the courtyard quite attractive. However, we walked in to an untastefully decorated room (with a...lot of potential) to a plastic menu and a waiter a bit slow on the uptake even though he only had two tables to serve. The pizza was disgusting. I had the chef special with honey on it (in hindsight, perhaps a risky decision) and couldn't finish it. It was absolutely drowned in a thick black substance, horrid. The cheese ravioli was watery and had a huge dollop of pesto on top of it with very little flavour. Also unable to finish. To top it off, the house wine, whilst drinkable, wasn't great and at the end of all that the bill was ridiculous for what you got.More

Restaurant looks great, was quiet, perfect location, but terrible food. We ordered a margarita pizza to share and I ordered a Hamburger. Pizza was way too salty and the cheese was not melted completely. We couldn't finish the pizza. The burger looked great when it...came out but when I picked it up the bun was very dry, broke apart in my hands and again the patty was too salty. I could not finish the burger.More

A friendly family run cafe located upstairs in the building. The menu is simple but offers good quality food. We had the avocado sandwich with a beer which is tasty and good value. The cafe also offers free wifi. A great lunch pit stop whilst...exploring the city.More

We had the pizza which was great! It's a thin crust, soft and flaky with really good cheese. Also ordered the fruit juice with yogurt, pineapple -- delicious! Go into the courtyard and then upstairs.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Donato's! Located inside La Posada de la Abuela, this restaurant offers friendly service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and delicious food! I had a sandwich on some of the best bread I've ever tasted! The bread is made in house,...as is the pasta. Also tried a sweet crepe which absolutely hit the spot as a sweet treat. I walked in not expecting much and walked out eager to write a review.More

in La Paz, finding a decent restaurant can be a trial and we found a nice retreat with Donatos Cafe in the busy market precinct. We had sandwiches and coffees, which were of good quality, so we were happy. Highly recommended.

Donato's is much more than a coffee place! We decided to try it out for dinner and were very happy with the dinner and the service. We ordered beef medallion with stir fried vegetables and potatoes and it was awesome. It was a good sized...piece of meat and good portion of vegetables which is what we have been craving since arriving in Bolivia. Trip advisor indicates it is closed on Sunday but lucky for us it was open. It's located in the Posada de Abuela Obdulia court yard on the 2nd floor (across from from Gravity mountain biking).More

It is a bit difficult to locate this cafe as it is hidden away from the Main Street. Use tripadvisor map to find with your location (just on your location without wifi). And once you get into the courtyard there is another small cafe, that's...not the one. Donato's Coffee is located on the 2nd floor together with the hotel rooms and restaurant. Look up and to your right - that it is! I like the sweet pancake with strawberry and banana. The pancake is thin and crispy. Perfect to go alone with coffee.More

Nice tasting coffee but served much cooler than our tastes. S.15 for a Cappuccino was pretty expensive for La Paz but apart from the temperature it was good. The Chocolate Brownie for S.12 was fantastic. Good option gor coffee and cake!

We were trying to find a nice place in La Pac (not that easy) and we found that place. Unfortunately they didn't have a lot of food because they were about to close (at 7.00 pm). However we were lucky and we could taste their...salteñas. BEST SALTEÑAS IN TOWN, DON'T MISS IT!More

This cafe is in a good location around the streets of the witches market and trinket shopping in La Paz, and its a nice place to stop for a coffee and a crepe. Nothing special to stand it out from the crowd, and not a...very large option for foods on the menu. Overall a nice cafe to have a break from trinket shopping, probably best for a snack rather than a full meal.More
