Delicious Local Food

Based on reviews on Trip Advisor, I went for dinner at this restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. I had the pork dish with potato and white corn. The corn was very interesting: it was almost like little teeny potatoes. Very worth the try. The dish was just at the edge of what I can tolerate for spicy... read more

The food was indeed excellent, in enormous quantities. We tasted the Criolla soup and the sundried beef, really worth it. The owner was very nice and explained us the dishes, the place is nice and cosy. We went there for dinner : note that the neighborhood is not really welcoming, better take a cab.

I visited here for lunch as part of a group of 4. The menu del dia (24 BOB) was very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of the food. The Dutch owner is very friendly and explained all of the dishes to us, while his wife was hard at work in the kitchen, pumping out really tasty traditional Bolivian... More

We too found this cosy little restaurant via Tripadvisor and was so glad we did. It is tremendous value - but don't think it is cheap in its approach to delivering the traditional flavours of Bolivian food. The menu matched the weather as we had a traditional beef and vegetable broth followed by a different meat main each cooked in... More

We found this restaurant on tripadvisor and decided to go there for dinner. However we did not realize that it was easter weekend and the restaurant was therefore closed. Nevertheless the dutch owner let us in and his bolivian wife prepared us dinner with the little food they had left in the kitchen. So friendly and The food was delicious!!!!... More

Me and my friend went there, not knowing it was closed because of easter, but the owners were really nice and opened up just for us! They didn't have that many ingredients as they were closed, but they honestly made us the best food we've had in a really long time! As if that's not enough, the portions were HUGE... More

During our time in La Paz we ate here twice because the food is so tasteful and the (Dutch/Bolivian) owners are incredible nice. They serve typical Bolivian dishes, which they prepare better than anywhere else! Great restaurant!

We read on tripadvisor about this restaurant and we were definitly not disapointed. We went to the restaurant on a Tuesday night without knowing that the restaurant is only open from Thursday till Sunday. So keep that in mind! But we arrived and the owner said that we could come in but he only had three different dishes because they... More

I've been living in La Paz for a few years now so I don't normally get very excited about Bolivian food which is normally quite bland. This restaurant is exceptional however, and has by far the best Bolivian food in La Paz. Highly recommended.

Having been in Bolivia for two weeks this was the first time I had a meal which felt a fair reflection of the country rather than something dressed up for tourist consumption. Aside from the excellent meal and setting it was fantastic to talk to someone like Peter(the co owner) who can give a rare perspective on how la Paz... More

Thank you for your kind words. It's always our pleasure to introduce our foreign guests to the flavours of Bolivian cuisine and we're glad to hear you liked them. Nice talking to you too and be able to give you my limited and biased views on recent developments in this country where 'todo y nada es posible' :) Have a... More
