After travelling around South America for four months we were craving authentic Asian food. Ken Chan managed to delightfully satisfy our taste buds. The servings are large with various accompaniments and a couple of side dishes. The average price per meal is $6.70, we highly recommend this great find.

After 8 months in Latin America I decided I needed some Asian food and this restaurant was right by my hotel. The food was great (actual authentic Japanese food) and the servings were huge! I ordered a Ramen noodle and the bowl was bigger than my head! So much food for so little money! Also, the kitchen staff were actually... More

The Katsudon (Pork with egg on rice) set came with a miso soup and 3 other small portions of pickled-like dishes. Similiar ginger pork set is going for the same price. Side dishes was tiny but tasted great. Miso soup was really authentic, being in Bolivia, just don't expect rice to be all that chewy and shiny like those of... More

I really love Asian food and after being delayed in La Paz, we walked 20 minutes from our hotel (Hotel Rosario) to Ken-Chan in search of some decent Japanese food. While our standards are probably higher being from California, I thought the food at Ken-Chan was actually not bad! We ordered the chirashi, katsudon, and miso ramen. The chirashi and... More

Been here a number of times and it is in my top 5 restaurants of La Paz. The space 'feng shui' is in harmony and service is cordial. This is a popular spot amongst locals and foreigners as it is always busy during lunch time especially on the weekends (go early..say like noon). There are many options on the menu... More

This is a great restaurant, it was like been in Japan, the food took a little bit of time, when it came it was simply delicious. The service was also very good.

We went to Ken-Chan based on the reviews on here and we had a really good meal. We started with the trout nigiri (locally caught in lake titicaca. They were very good, though the pickled ginger looked radioactive. Next we each had a ramen. Both were enormous and and delicious. Neither of us could finish them and we left feeling... More

True and authentic Japanese food, neat service and freshness. I asked for the clerk at the hotel if there was a sushi joint nearby and he recommended this place. Great place, a true Japanese chef could be seen in the kitchen which gave me lots of confidence. The price was good and the variety and freshness of sushi was all... More

My husband was craving Japanese home-cooking, so we headed to Ken-Chan, and really enjoyed it. The gyoza is very good, and we also enjoyed our set meals, particularly the yakiniku (katsu was nice too, but Bolivian pork is a little fattier than Japanese). Prices are reasonable for Sopocachi, not rock-bottom for La Paz, but portions are very generous and the... More

Japanese is our favourite food back at home and we were pleasantly surprised to find good quality japanese in La Paz. The service was attentive and the meal was extremely well priced. Try the gyoza, it was delicious. I would go back again.
