This is a good option for affordable Japanese food. Tempura is the best offered in La Paz. Sushi is not exactly great, just good. You got to be patient , though, cause , it may take up to half an hour to be served. Service is not consistent, but generally OK.

Having been thoroughly ignored for 20 minutes after sitting down and watching tables who had sat down after us have their order taken, this place was already going to have to work hard to impress. When the food finally arrived over an hour after we sat down, we were really disappointed, especially given the rave reviews. We had both steamed... More

Great Japanese place, located on an upstairs floor of the Bolivian Japanese Society's building in La Paz city centre, down the hill from Plaza del Estudiante. Has a regular chairs-and-tables section and a traditional Japanese sit-on-the-floor area. Good choice of dishes, but I nearly always end up having their sutamina ramen, which I would say is excellent. Very gracious service,... More

A good Japanese restaurant, with friendly and fast service. Food was great, not very expensive. You have a large choice of sushi dishes, but I would advice to take one of the mixed dishes.

Just lovely restaurant. The decor, the food (I've had the vegetarian sushi and full vegetarian meal), the atmosphere and music are great! Been missing sushi for my whole trip and finally I found a place worth a visit. It's not in the main city centre but absolutely walkable from plaza San Francisco.

The best Japanese I had in Latin America, comparable to some I've had in Japan. Ramen, katsudon, teriyaki fish all good, with tasty sauces. Wouldn't recommend for vegetarians. A little on the pricier side but well worth it if you like Japanese cuisine.

I went to ken-Chan a couple of times already, and i always order the same, the mixed sushi plate, Im a big fan of sushi, but didn't expect to find something decent in La Paz, however, the sushi is tasty, comes in good and filling portions. If you are there, try to go to the japanese area, where you sit... More

This restaurant is part of the Japanese Association in La Paz, so in the same building you will find offices, a library and other services of this Association. The restaurant itself has a simple interior, spotlessly clean bathrooms and very good food. It is frequented by many Japanese, which is always a good sign. I went here with friends after... More

As a vegetarian, there weren't a variety of options, but they were willing to accommodate me. I ordered the miso ramen soup. The miso wasn't the kind of miso soup I am used to being served in the US. The quality of the miso and noodles were just ok.
