Great place for a quick snack or lunch.. Found that 2 per person was about the right amount, and at just around $1USD (5.5Bs) each, I am not complaining. The pollo (chicken) salteña was drier, but still very flavourful, while the carne (beef) had more gravy - a bit messier but nice and spicy! Also service was quick and salteñas... More

Definitely a must. The saltenas are delicious and with lots of sauce inside (be careful though, the little pot of peppers they give you to go with it are not peppers, they are chillis so go easy!). Good service but shuts at 2pm - you can get takeaway though.

I keep coming back for the authentic salteña flavor. Paceña knows how to combine the adequate amount of gravy (watch out non-experts in the arts of eating salteña), and a thin and a nicely roasted dough. I particularly recommend chicken salteña and the vegetarian one. Service is quick. Juices are also not bad at all. Definitely a must when visiting... More

It os for sure a very good salteña!!! Pay attention that the right time to eat salteña is it between 10:00 to 14:00. After that it closes.

Pros: Fast, cheap, and delicious saltenas. Above average saltenas. Cons: Sometimes it is too crowded. Not much more special then some of the other fast saltena to go places you find all around La Paz. Summary: If you really want a saltena and you are near you should go to this place. If you are far away and you want... More

Salteñas are Bolivia´s answer to an empanada, but with a sweeter pastry shell. They´re inexpensive and will fill you up fast and the service is fast here.

Often hard to find yummy saltena's past the morning, this a great find. The place is clean, and the saltenas are fresh and delicious!

Great flavor but be ware you might find long lines. Still it is worth to wait. They are not spicy so you can enjoy them and even take your kids.

Excellent small cafe in 20 Octubre selling my fave food in Bolivia, the Saltena. Carne & Pollo are my two faves but also a vegetarian option too here. Incredibly tasty and easily my favourite Bolivian food. Service efficient and polite and incredibly cheap. Full of locals which says it all. A must visit while in La Paz

If you are in Bolivia and you don't try the saltena, you're missing out on the national food. This is the best place in La Paz, there is usually a wait, even when it is raining, but the juicy empanada looking pastry with meat and eggs and olive, dripping down your hands as you eat it vertically from the top...
