Cheap and tasty

Delicious Saltena snacks and fast, friendly service. Cheap as chips - very tempting to eat too many.

Very similar in concept to Asia's curry puffs, except the pastry itself is not flaky or salty! That said I loved the slightly sweet dough taste and juicy meat fillings. Good for a mid morning snack on the way to get some cash.

We went here for a low cost lunch and the salthenas were delicious. A much better alternative than the nearby cafes which charge a lot more for a simple sandwich. We had vegetable and chicken, our advice is to get two as they're quite small.

Decided to chose this spot to taste our first saltenas. Definitely a good choice as these piping hot pastries deserve a seat given the gravy spillages that are likely to occur when first eaten. Food was tasty and service quick.

I hunted down this little restaurant after reading the reviews on here, and I'm really glad I found it! The salteñas were deeelicious! I'd heard locals don't drip the liquid...I'm not that talented. There were four different types of salteñas to choose from: beef, chicken, vegetarian and another one which I can't remember. The lemon milkshake was ok, but the... More

If you're in La Paz, you've got to try salteñas, and this is one of the best places. If you're vegetarian this is the place for you - very few other places do vegetarian salteñas. You either sit in or take away, and it costs 6Bs for a salteña. You can get cheaper salteñas on the street - but you're... More

I had to walk to get to this place. I say the walk was worth it as the chicken saltenas was yummy, so juicy and soft. The place is small with lots of people either sitting down enjoying the saltenas or ordering take out. If you are in Bolivia, this is a must to have!!!

Definitely the best place in La Paz to eat saltenha. Extremely delicious! They are also very juicy (I wonder how they manage to do), so be careful.

This place is so cheap and so good for an amazing lunch. The saltena is the Bolivian empanada and the great thing about this place is that they also have the vegetarian option! Oh goodness - it's so hearty and delicious! Plus they give additional chili peppers on the side of you want that extra kick! Only thing that sucks... More

The salteñas were amazing. We only wish we ate there more than twice. The vegetarian salteñas are great. The leche con limon is amazing...you must order it. Also so for the locoto to eat with the salteñas.
