They have changed their name to Sabor Gaucho. Don't go for anything but the meat. Specifically, although every piece of meat comes with bread (that crappy white roll all of Bolivia lives on), soupy white rice, below average French fries, and unlimited trips to the very unimpressive salad bar, I avoided it all except enough small spoonfuls from the salads... The steaks were great, and they knew how to cook them properly according to what you ask. What I didn't like, were the sides, salad bar and desserts. There weren't any appealing desserts to choose from and the variety of accompaniments was really short. Anyways, if you feel like having a steak this is the place.

This is an old fashion restaurant, very classic in all ways. But if you like meat, it is a very good place to placate your desire. We ordered different dishes so as to be able to compare and we were all very happy about the quality of the meat, but remember, we are talking of "real" meat, like the one... More

Wow! What steaks. The biggest on the menu is a 1.2kg monster!!! It is not the size that matters, but the quality. The meat is superb, there is a lovely salad bar as well and the steak was prepared exactly as requested!! When in La Paz, you will have to try this place at least once.

Excellent steak! It was the largest (and tastiest!) steak I've ever had. The salad bar is also delicious. My sister and I loved it so much we went here twice while we were in La Paz. I highly recommend eating here while you are in the city.

Biggest steak we ever had. Super tasteful. Little bit expensive (but still very cheap compared to European prices) but absolutly worth every Boliviano.

We arrived in the afternoon and there were only 2 other tables occupied...so you would expect the service to be fast and good. The dish we ordered took almost an hour to be served! If that dish needs such a long time to be prepared and served it would be nicer to get that information at the time you order... More

This place serves top quality steaks, big chunks of meat, you need plenty of room as the portions of meat are big. Cooked beautifully. So tasty. Served on a platter heated by coals. There is a salad bar, which is good, but what you are really here for is meat and you will not be let down Fantastic meal with... More

Ate at El Arriero twice during my stay in La Paz (just had to go back to try a few more things). It was a while since I had done the "Argentinian Asado" experience and it a treat to find such a restaurant in La Paz, especially after my exhausting trek in the mountains. Great selection of Beef, Chicken, and... More
