My friend and I spent three days in Punta Del Este and ate at El Secreto our last night. We had an early dinner by South American standards, around 8:00pm, but the food, service and wine were very good. The view and the sunset ... spectacular! We sat upstairs on the deck, this is a great spot to hear the... More

We actually ignored TA and went with our instincts because this place seemed absolutely packed with locals. We were not disappointed. Good service and very good food, although you should be aware that as in most places in Uruguay they serve the main course almost on top of the starter so you may choose to tell them to give you... The restaurant is nice and you have a great view. But the food was disappointing. The salmon with 1 side dish is 460,- pesos, cover charge 60,-, water 75,-, beer 120,-. Food was very little. So better order some appetizer if you are hungry. I had the salmon with rice and it was just that - no garnishings, nothing! Even... More

If your looking for a good lunch on the water this is your place. After consuming so much meat in Argentina, I switched course and got a chicken caesar salad which was very good and refreshing.

This place is really one of the best overall (social and culinary) experiences I had while traveling. The restaurant is located on the side of Down Town Punta del Este with a view from its windows to the calm waters of Playa Mansa, Isla Gorriti and the Punta del Este port, filled with luxury boats. I recommend going during sunset... More

I have been enjoying El Secreto for many years. The location is excellent , the view is spectacular and the service is always friendly and profesional. The outdoor dining área is perfect for a summer day and it is one of the few restaurants in Punta that serves excellent vegetables. I recommend the Corvina with grilled vegetables and a mustard... Although many hotels and restaurants are closed, I can still enjoy travelling along the eastern coast of Uruguay in the off-season because of El Secreto and the many days glorious days of fall. When I remember the crowds and traffic of Punta del Este during the summer, it's great to pull into one of El Secreto's middle of the street... More
