Without going into details of our meal. I can assure you that this place is the definition of mediocrity. It's not all bad, but a nice dining room and friendly service do not makeup for crappy food and over-the-top prices. Steer clear of this place. I'm sure there are much better places to dine at in Punta Del Este.

Our visit to Punta was very disappointing, a lot of places closed, restaurant prices are outrageous. We manage to find Los Caracoles, which was ok, but a bit pricy.

This is a great place in Punta del Este for the culinary specialty from this part of the world...grilled meat. The location, one block off the main drag, was very convenient as we had seen it on a previous pass through town. On this occasion, we decided to give it a try for lunch. The exterior appeared quite nice connoting... More

Me and my whife were there to have lunch. It was out of the high seasons and we did not have problems to seat. We ordered a Lomo and the meat was perfect! Very juicy and delicious! The side dish was ok. The waiter was also frindly. The negative point was that as soon as we seated they put on... More

For diners accustomed to modern eateries in beach towns, this will be a novel experience. It's pure old-world bistro service. Properly attired wait staff, knowledgeable about the menu, formal (but not stuffy) service. And the food was impeccable. Steak au poivre was worthy of Paris. I'd go back anytime!

A really good dinner, with a friendly chatty waiter happy to talk to me in English (thanks so much). It is not always nice eating alone in a new country, but this was a very nice experience in a lovely city.

It is centrally located, the prices were reasonable and the food was good quality. Service was ok. Since we went there off season, we did not have to wait to be seated.

My husband and I were on a Regent Cruise ship and happened to stop in Punte del Este which is a BEAUTIFUL place altogether. We ventured off on our own and found Los Caracoles for lunch and absolutely LOVED it! We ordered appetizers, meals, drinks and all were FABULOUS! We were even blessed with an English speaking server who was... More

A family restaurant in the heart of Punta del Este, where there is a variety of gastronomy. It is conveniently located for nearby hotels and rentals when you do not feel to cook at home or are in a vacation. Many business people will choose it for the good food which is reasonably priced and has an extensive menu and... More

We have been to Los caracoles many times over the years. This time entrecôte was tough and the parque que de mañana was not freshly cooked - usually takes at least 20 minutes. This came almost immediately and was soggy. when my husband went to pay by card at the desk - the young woman was exceedingly and unjustifiably rude.... More
