We enjoyed this place so much that we returned the next day for the same lunch. The wait staff was wonderful especially the gentleman that spoke English. We shared the tuna with myo, green salad, sardines and a side of sauted spinach......so fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is light, bright and friendly.

Very large portions and wonderful staff. They were very patient with our minimal Spanish. The food was OK, in saying that, we couldn't read a lot of the menu, which limited our choices. Had a little bit of everything on the menu and fairly priced.

Caracoles is a sure value. The turistic menu for 550 pesos phantastic. Every saturday you can eat for lunch puchero, an uruguayan speciality comparable to the french pot-au-feu or the swiss bernerplatte. But all the other days you will find good dishes on a big card. The service is very good. Most of the waiters working for years there. Good... More

Amazing staff, good food and fair price. Ask about papas suiças, arroz azafranado and pechuga de pollo.

portions to big for one person. Prices very expensive for poor food, Cubierto ( starter) made of heated bread from the morning, or the day before, and grissinis, but you can´t avoid it, they´ll charge you even if you don´t ask, or decline it.Ok, the sevice is good, but I wouldn´t come back to this restaurant.

This was a decent restaurant. The service was excellent and our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. That said, the food was only ok. There wasn't anything bad about it but it just wasn't anything incredible either. Of all the restaurants in Punta Del Este, this probably isn't the one I would choose next time.

Without going into details of our meal. I can assure you that this place is the definition of mediocrity. It's not all bad, but a nice dining room and friendly service do not makeup for crappy food and over-the-top prices. Steer clear of this place. I'm sure there are much better places to dine at in Punta Del Este.

Our visit to Punta was very disappointing, a lot of places closed, restaurant prices are outrageous. We manage to find Los Caracoles, which was ok, but a bit pricy.

This is a great place in Punta del Este for the culinary specialty from this part of the world...grilled meat. The location, one block off the main drag, was very convenient as we had seen it on a previous pass through town. On this occasion, we decided to give it a try for lunch. The exterior appeared quite nice connoting... More
