One of the few restaurants in Abu Dhabi with a local flare and chef, Mezlai is a nice place to go and I've brought visitors here to see the food of the UAE. Definitely go for a food dish, as that is the local specialty. Beyond the food it's also a beautiful location - if you can get one of... More

I was not impressed with this EMIRATI restaurant. Nothing original that sets them apart from other arabic restaurants. The ambiance was great because of the weather, outside, breezy, great company. Food was not that much. My husband ordered the lamb, of course, being an emirati restaurant, but it was really small and COLD! All dishes that were brought to the... More

We wanted to try true emirati cusine - so we booked lunch here. The food was not very bad - just bland - but for 500AED+ for 2 starter and 2 mains + 1 bottle of water I expect more. So not recommended - basically overpriced due to location.

You can enjoy in winter season the beauty of sitting outside. The decor of inside is very pretty to reflect Emirati culture.Service is perfect.Choice may not surprise you but the taste will.Great for a peaceful evening to have a conversation as well as great meal. There is no loud music to disturb .Not only good for kebabs but also great for seafood.

Make a reservation and ask for a table inside a Bedouin tent/booth. Maybe not the best comfort as you sit on sofas, but more genuine and fun to dine like this than to sit at a conventional table. The staff is dressed up in traditional Arabic clothing, the food is fantastic. The whole environment enforces the feeling of being part... More

dining in a tent, romantic, perfect service and food, oh and did I mention great wine. Just a wonderful place to just breath, relax, enjoy truly great food and the staff anticipates your wishes. We have enjoyed every meal at this hotel. The key is arriving in January, low season if you will, but the staff and kitchen is unhurried, this gives the... More

The restaurant located in the emirates palace is very good for local emirati cuisine. Everything from the decor to the waiters dress were very well thought. We took the option of sitting in the tent which was an excellent choice. Mezlai also had a good choice for kids from international cuisine. The only disappointing bit was the manager or whoever... We had a group dinner here in conjunction with an event at another hotel in town. The food was a wonderful conversation piece itself, and provided delight after delight through the night. I especially found the lentil soup to be worth the trip- an absolutely perfect savory smooth mix of flavors and spices. The setting in the Emirates Palace Hotel... More
