One of the nicest place in Damascus. Wandering how they're going right now… Me and my girlfriend fell in love with this place the first time we get in.

This place has the right combo of services. The camas Ian atmosphere, combined with great tasting food. I only wished they had better argeeleh or a musical program. Excellent destination for a family gathering or a tourist destination. Make reservation before you go. Valet parking available.

Reading reviews is a bad idea as you set off with lofty expectations.. We expected the last word in Al Khawali from reading reviews. Indeed the bread is divine but the food is really only average. None of 3 of us enjoyed it much. Naranja is far better (and they serve alcohol..). But then we hadn't even heard of Naranja... More

A lovely old damscene house. Bread prepared fresh and served hot. Amazing food. First night was fantastic. Second night was a bit less magical as they had laid a big table (about 30 people) which took away a bit of the magic... I understand they might want to accept groups but probably better to leave them in tables of 6... More

We enjoyed a lovely mezze style lunch at this restaurant in the beautiful setting of an old Damascene house. It is tucked away behind down a small flight of steps on a corner just off the Street called Straight - I'm not sure we would have realised it was a restaurant if our guide hadn't pointed it out - so... The Financial Times review says this restaurant would get three stars if Michelin were to rate restaurants in Damascus. That's incredible. The food is good, but in no way up to Michelin standards. The service is marginal. Nice old building, to be sure. One must wonder whether the FT reviewer has ever eaten in a Michelin starred restaurant! The Luluat... More

The food was wonderful but service was so quick we felt they wanted us out as quickly as possible, because all our food basically arrived with the starters.
