Great way to spend a Thursday evening

Having read and heard mixed reviews of Opal we decided to try the happy hour last Thursday. The staff were very good at responding to my emails about menus and reserving a table. We had a lovely table outside with a great view of the grounds and sea. We started by ordering a pitcher of gin fizz... read more

This was a terrible first experience! I can't believe all the hype about Gordon Ramsay restaurants. The food completely tasteless and bland. I had the fish special for lunch today. It was supposed to have made with a meunière sauce but instead the chef melted a pound of butter and layed the bland fish in it. I had fried calamari... More

Firstly I do commend a nice restaurant being open for lunch during Ramadan, after all most of the population isn't fasting, and given hotels mainly cater for expats I'd say the majority of their customers aren't fasting either. So bravo and on this Saturday the lunch room was full of expat families enjoying a lunch (no one was smoking, excellent).... More

This should be on the next episode of that show where Gordon Ramsay himself goes to horrible restaurants to sort them out. If he spent less time on TV and more on his restaurants or restaurants he leases his name to then the food would probably be better.

Had lunch with my family on Friday turns out they had a set menu which seemed ok, we were seated on a nice table with a view of the sea, options on the Ramadan Lunch menu were limited to a cold tomato soup, grilled squid with a green spicy sauce, and a artichoke salad. The squid and the salad were... More

Worst place in Doha I've been so far!! Horrible service, out of 26 dishes we ordered 1 was good. The short ribs appetiser.. As a chef with several Michelin restaurants you should be ashamed with this menu. This has nothing to do with fine dining. It's a pizza and burger joint.

Friday brunch was very disappointing. The food was a little boring for my liking, eg. shrimps on toast, scrambled eggs on toast, fresh tomatoes with feta, chicken breasts on mashed potato). The service was slow due to understaffing. The venue is one of the best in Doha however the food did not live up to it.

Went there with a group. The views from the restaurant are just fabulous (nice sea view) but the food was not that good. Tried the Lentil soup which was having a very thick consistency, the pan seared catch of day had lots of bones and was very difficult to eat. The only positive was the ginger creme brûlée which was... More
