The best seafood in Muscat

The place looks unassuming but food they prepare is fantastic. Start with mixed appetizer with bread and then either order fresh catch (owner himself is buying fish every morning) or prawns from oven (my favorite). You will not find better seafood in Muscat.

Ask most Muscat residents where the best seafood is and they'll give you two answers: Turkish house or at the dock when the fisherman arrive before sun up. The real deal, probably some of the most honest, fresh seafood I've had in the Gulf.

We were taken here by friends when in Muscat, great atmosphere , very busy anda lovely mix of nationalities. The mint lemonade is lovely and refreshing. Enjoyed the hot fresh bread with Hummous. Also recommend the whole fish and meze and the deep fried squid. THUS place is very cheap and a fun place to eat.

This place is a great find. It is typical canteen in terms of setup, as are most of the Arabic/Lebanese/Turkish places in the region. No hassle or barter, simple in and out. This is informal dining at its very best. Just rock up and ask for them to recommend the best dishes for sharing. The large bread was amazing, and... More

I ate here with a friend of mine a few weeks ago and the food was pretty good. First we had fried calamari. This was quite delicious however they were not crispy. In my experience, fried calamari is normally crispy. So this was a bit disappointing, but they were still pretty good. We also had a Turkish salad that I... More

Had dinner with six adults. Took some mezzo as a starter. The babaganusj and the bread were really excellent. Staff was very friendly. Several fish dishes as main course: Fried squid, grilled squid, cooked hammer and fried kingfish. All of these were delicious. We also loved the lemon mint juice! All-in-all a place to be highly recommended

Having been before with friends and family, this week we visited this restaurant once again with friends and found that the quality of food and service remained very good. If you are a lover of seafood cooked to your personal choice served with rocket salad topped with pomegranate juice, French fries and large helpings of oven cooked Arabic bread, then... More

One of the most popular restaurants in Muscat. Food is fantastic and service is always excellent. Very popular with Omani's and expats.

Tourists take note - this is where the locals go. Any taxi driver knows it & finding a cab to get home after is no problem. Getting a table in the best spot may well be. The front face of the restaurant is well signed "Turkish House" and getting in there will be easy. Go round the back and you... More
