Excellent food, terrible wine

Visited this place based on trip advisor reviews, and was the best lebanese food I had during my weekend trip to Beirut by far. Prices were fair, but certainly not cheap. Wine selection is super tiny and the one I tasted was terrible, reminded me of vinegar. While food is delicious, this place has... read more

I have got some tips on restaurants in Lebanon and Abu Naim was one of. Knowing that people advising are Lebanese, I took their advice and was not disappointing. If you are looking for a fancy interior, move on. Abu Naim has a typical simple interior that can accommodate only smaller number of people - but once food is on... More

I don't like that they smoke in this place and it's not huge. Fortunately it's mostly been empty everytime I visited. The food seems to of good quality and service is friendly.

We stayed in Lebanon for a week, and one of the consistent problems we had was finding somewhere good to eat - if only we'd found Abu Naim earlier in the week! Loved the food, had a great selection of wine, and very friendly staff. Better than anywhere else we ate in Beirut.

I went to Abu Naim during my holiday in Lebanon in October. The food was amazingly good! The meze selection was delicious. I also tried the lamb chops & grilled prawns and both meals were the best dishes I had in Beirut! The service was incredibly friendly and helpful!

I had high hopes for this restaurant since it's close to where I used to live! Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the quality of the Lebanese food here! Most of the mezza dishes were below average! The main meat dish "ouzzeh" was also disappointing, since when Lebanese rice has cashews and raisins?

I can't rave enough about Abu Naim. I lucked in to this restaurant my first night in Beirut. The staff (run by a father and son, and the son's wife) is incredibly friendly. A plate of fresh mint, peppers, onions, and olives along with Lebanese bread quickly arrived, along with a half bottle of great local wine. Everything on the... More

A delightful, simple and friendly joint. Unassuming hospitality, excellent food, and locally produced wines. Worth a visit - come in, relax and take your time. A lovely experience.

Last Sunday me and some colleagues landed in Beirut, we looked at trip advisor and chosed Abu Naim since it was not so far from hotel, and downtown close to la hamra. We was med by the owner mr Naim. He just asked what we would like to eat and we told him to bring in a typical Libanese dinner... More
