Worst service ever...... We had an issue with the wine service at TOTO. We ordered a barbera wine bottle although while paying the bill we realized that we were charged 4 times the price mentioned the menu!!!! After highlighting the error the waiter and us realized that the wine menu contains 4 different barbera bottles with a different range of... More

unfortunately this place has closed its doors for good. Word is the that chef Sophie has left the country for a few years.

The owner and his brother in law (Sophie's husband) greeted us at the door. The owner was somewhat mean and pretentious (having that I'm-better-than-you attitude) which later changed 180 degrees when he saw the kind of wine we ordered (yes, shallow). Now let's review the restaurant: The place is simply gorgeous with a cozy romantic setting and an old-house-meets-modern-days design.... More

The chef is extremely talented, and the service is impeccable. I like that its a family run operation. It is, by far, the only restaurant in Lebanon that can live up to New York or Chicago fine dining standards.

Although the place is cosy and food is good, this is a place to go if you want to get ripped off by a bunch of wanna-be restaurateurs. Credit to chef Sophie for being the main thing keeping this place going with her above average talent, however management is poor and unprofessional, looking for a quick buck rather than customer... We had a group lunch at Chez Sophie. The food and the wines were both exquisite. The ambience is that of a good fine dining restaurant with top service in a renovated old house. The restaurant is small and cozy taking 30-40 guests, so make sure you reserve early on.

If you are looking for fine cuisine, in an elegant setting, with discreet yet efficient service, don't look any further: Chez Sophie is your place. The focus here is on the quality of food. It might well be the best upmarket restaurant in town, yet the setting and the ambiance are not too formal; everything is geared towards pleasing the... More

Having heard so much about it put my expectations at a very high place. The food was good and different - to be fair - but portions are too small. Ok, it's french, but so is Couqley. Some items were less impressive than others, and mostly the Chocolate Surprise dessert. Very surprisingly disappointing.

We had a lovely dinner at Chez Sophie. We took the menu degustation and it was a fest for more than 2 hours. I had selected my wines earlier since their wine list is online but the sommolier was generous and not intimidating. Their wine carte has a choice for almost every taste (and pocket). Will return.
