A real brasserie experience. The ambience is just like being in a French town with the pichet of wine, baguette, Dijon mustard and steak frites. The food is cooked well and presented excellently. Service is discreet and efficient. My favourite French place in Beirut.

Cosy venue, waiters are very professional and attentive. Service is amazingly fast, even during peak hours ! This place has one of the best meat I ever tasted in Lebanon, especially the steak-frites platter (go for the large size) !! Portions are extremely generous, and overall, it's an excellent price/quality ratio

We are frequent visitors to Couqley - The Alley - Gemmayze and have found the food and atmosphere to be of the same high standard on each occasion. The service is very good but the highlight is the quality of the food. Normally we can't get past the Steak Frites (steak and chips with gravy) but everything else we've tried... More

The reception was great. All waiters were very polite. The food is exceptional and well presented. We went on a Monday night and the place was almost full so you might need to reserve before time.

What happened to Couqley? It used to be good. Your food is dry, served almost ice cold and clearly not fresh. Your quinoa salad is a whole lot of arugula and if you're lucky, you will find a slim slice of avocado somewhere in it, and if you're luckier, some quinoa. However, the service was quick and efficient, I give... More

Dear Noura, Many thanks for your constructive review, we really appreciate it. We sincerely apologize for your below-standard experience; kindly extend our apology to any of your guests. There is no excuse for slipping up on quality and consistency in either branch, however from time to time mistakes do happen. Serving ice cold food is definitely not up to Couqley... More

A traditional French bistro that combines great ambiance with a fresh delicious taste of a variety of foods. I recommend the steak and the carpacio
