Greetings. I was at the Maki in The Avenues mall in Kuwait and experienced the worst Japanese style dining of my life, on any continent. The service was non-existent, the sushi was dry, flavorless, and old. The rice was hard(we're in the middle east, how do you not find good rice!!) I also made the mistake of ordering Gyoza(dumplings) that... More

Maki restaurant located at Avenues Mall Kuwait is only namesake Japanese restaurant. "An authentic food from any country has to be made by the person from that country". Good Japanese food can be prepared only by Japanese Chefs. Unfortunately, the food from Maki tasted not so good and was very pricey. Overall: 3 Stars

Joe H, Group Business Development and Marketing Director at Maki, responded to this review

Dear Valued Maki Guest, Thank you for your visit and your review. Please note that in no way is Maki an “American” style restaurant. The inclusion of mayonnaise in maki rolls is a “fusion” aspect of contemporary Japanese cuisine found at some of the most renowned Japanese restaurants in Dubai, London, and New York. Furthermore, Maki does offer many other... More
