nice evening

I have been here 3 times now, the last was a birthday surprise from my family. The food is lovely, salad bar is varied and the boat itself adds to the whole experience. It is on the pricey side but worth it. It is a fairly small restaurant so not a place I would take younger kids. I would... read more

Many previous visits but not for a while so I was looking forward to my return and was not disappointed aside from the bill. Lobster or Wagyu steaks are never cheap so be prepared if all your guests select them.... Given the exterior and interior of the ship perhaps that is reflected in the cost and this really is a... After having lived in Kuwait for over two years, I finally made my way to Al Boom. I had heard about it for so long. The restaurant is housed inside a boat which was created just for this restaurant. It was made in 1979. The ambiance is a nice blend of Kuwaiti Gulf and western foods. There is a salad/dessert... More

It felt a little too touristy and not a place where the locals go. The salad bar had an excellent selection but the ambience was a bit strange. I felt a bit claustrophobic under a boat with super heavy chairs and slightly tilted tables. It would have been a great bar to hang out in but no alcohol! Anyway, the... More

It's not often that you get to eat inside an actual vintage wooden sailing ship. The ambience is lovely and not too kitschy. The appetizer buffet is comprehensive and delicious. Although the main courses are pricey, the food is delicious, well presented, and service is outstanding.

I wanted an early dinner so I reserved at 6 pm tonight. I wanted to have lobster so I ordered the grilled one based on the recommendation of the waiter ... Started with the buffet salads which was acceptable, but when the grilled lobster arrived, I was shocked ... Two small half tails, grilled to a maximum and burned. It... More

I went to Al Boom for a family get together. I had reserved my table but when I reached there I realised that there was no need of reserving the table as it was half empty.( mebbe cos it was a weekday). The staff was very helpful and courteous. The starters and salads were self served and plentiful, so you... More

This traditional dhow restaurant in a purpose-built Boom starts with a massive selection of salads, soups, breads and other starter dishes, buffet style. You then chose your main course, cooked to order, steak and seafood. Finished off with dessert. I found the steak too salty and peppery for my taste and the whole mean was exorbitantly expensive for a three... More
