Very expensive Japanese restaurant, the place to go for teppanyaki dishes in Riyadh; however, it is very experience.

Not what you would expect from a Japanese restaurant at all. They tried there own thing and called it Japanese. Don’t go here it’s a rip off.
I have been told a few times by local residents that this place used to be a Michelin starred establishment, certainly isn’t that any more but still a decent, safe, traditional Japanese. Sushi, sashimi and teppanyaki are all represented on the menu and use good...quality fish, veg and sushi rice etc. But it’s not super exciting (especially if it’s empty) and you won’t find anything new or particularly memorable. So don’t fly all the way to Riyadh to experience it, but if already there and in need of sushi you could do a lot worse.More
Book your night and enjoy the chef at your table. you can start of with some sushi appetizers and finish off with the main dish cooked in front of you. Delicious all around. Finish your meal with a nice tea outside. Must try
Had dinner here and was the ONLY customer in the entire restaurant. Ended up paying 280 SAR for a fairly small amount of food. Quality medium at best. Sushi decent, teppanyaki disappointing. For 100 SAR more you could eat at Nozomi which is truly outstanding....Would not recommend!More
We ate just about everything on the menu and yes, it was a little pricey, but every morsel was worth it. The chef came out and met us and it just devine.
Have been eating at this spot for over 20 years. Probably the best sushi in Riyadh but that's not setting the bar very high. Nevertheless, it's descent Japanese. Used to go there mainly for the tapan dishes but now only for sushi. Clean and fresh....A simple meal.More
The restaurant's ambiance is nice. However, the live cocking chief was not trained well to entertain the guest compared to other similar Japanese restaurants I have visited before. The food was delicious but little salty. The staff are nice and smiling all the time. The...most important thing to mention it is very expensive !More
High quality of Food,Service,Location, maintaining that all that time without changing . You will enjoy your time as you will be watching the great show from their chefs while cooking in front of you. Their Sushi is very good too. Better to have a reservation.
Mr. Roman Miah is my favorite Japanese Chef in the world. The Maki & Shushi he makes is just mouth watering and the Teppanyaki is just mouth watering. I have travelled to so many countries and where ever I go I try Japanese Cuisine as...it is my favorite and I just can't get the taste. In other words I am addicted to Romans Maki & Shushi. All Japanese Cuisine lovers A must to visit restaurant in Riyadh just to taste ROMANS Maki & Shushi.More
We visited Shogan after nearly 3 years for a staff appreciation dinner as an experience of Japanese cuisine was preferred by consensus of a group of 19 friends and colleagues. I was a little apprehensive at first because going back to a place that was...outstanding with cherished memories risked tainting closed chapters of one's reminiscence. There was no reason for my initial reservation in approach because it was another memorable experience living through the Teppanyaki experience of others! I learnt that some colleagues were cautious of the experience as they were expecting to "enjoy" sushi and sashimi because it was the so-called trendy thing to do. They had put on brave faces and slight smiles while the unspoken question was whether they could tolerate raw fish and raw meat! Once the two parties settled in around the Teppanyaki grill, it became apparent that the chef would be cooking the food in front of the guests. The relief and admission of fears were an intriguing blend of anticipation as to what was to be expected next? Fortunately during the arrangements for the group dinner I reconnected with the restaurant manager Mr Sofi Asif whom I had know about 10 years ago. After exchanges courteous pleasantries, he planned the dinner to perfection. The evening was exquisite with fresh seafood, chicken and prime beef cuts cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables chopped and grilled impressively and served with splendid fried rice. Guests in our party were fascinated with the artistry of the chef who delivered his culinary performance with pizzazz! His dexterity of skills and panache certainly imparted the glamor of what it must be like to be a celebrity chef! The proof certainly always is in the eating and in this case his spectacular performance came through in a sumptuous serving of authentic Teppanyaki cuisine! It was thrilling to experience the delight of fellow diners who appreciated the precision of the culinary skills to deliver a meal of perfection. The multicultural restaurant staff were friendly and attentive throughout the dining experience. I need not wait another 3 years for this Japanese Teppanyaki experience exceeds a previous experience in Hong Kong ... and it being right here in the heart of Saudi Arabia! Well done! Most certainly a hidden jewel of a restaurant for the palate that embraces eastern cuisine!More
This is the best sushi I have tasted by far in Riyadh, have also taste the tepenyaki and it is outstanding, staff also are very welcoming and cheerful
Shogun Tepanyaki is one of the restaurants within Radisson hotel in Riyadh. food was ok. but the fish, prawns, chicken, all seem to taste the same, specially as they were cooked without and vegde.
This was an exciting experience with the food being prepared on our table and the quality was great. I love the atmosphere and the food. Highly recommend.
Excellent interior, good food and service and a good show from the chef. Unfortunately, the two times we've been there a bit too much of a hotel restaurant with small and single companies that slows down the place. But if you are there for food...and not life you will not be disappointed.More
