Hashem Restaurant, Amman

I had heard of it, it has a famous reputation and is listed in many guide books for Jordan. I am glad I made the effort to go and try the food. Theres no menu, they just bring different dishes around to you and you take what you want, hommus, salad, etc etc. A worthwhile place to visit if in... read more

No body refers to "Hashem" as Hashem Restaurant, one just says Hashem and everybody I. Downtown Amman knows what you mean. If you want to meet someone you just say "Let's meet at Hashem" and you will never be lost. Forget all what you hear or read about who invented Falafel or Hummus, no matter who, it was made popular... More

We stopped here as part of a tour for a snack. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. The best falafels I have ever tasted! Fresh, delicious, crunchy and served hot. The hummus is excellent and fresh. This place opened in 1956 and it was the best meal I had in Jordan!

Excellent, what else to say ? We've been here twice, late afternoon and late morning, both times same great food. They specialize in very few things, and they do them the right way: excellent. Falafel, hommous, and beans cream (don't know the name), the best we've ever tasted in Jordan. Also, great value for money, they charge tourists like they... More

We were taken here by our guide for a traditional Jordanian breakfast. While the falafel are among the best Iv'e ever eaten, I'm not sure whether I can give up my coffee and croissant just yet! The good thing about getting there for 9.00am though is that you can get a table and there is no queue around the block.

This place is well known for the real traditional breakfast, you should visit the two branches and enjoy the atmosphere and delicious food in both, some hummus and falafel is the best breakfast

great location and good food. There was a very nice Egyptian waiter who brought us diet coke from outside just to make us happy. He was so nice and will never forget him. The price was resonable and would like to go back again. Love the location.

Couldn't believe how much we ate and how little it cost! Service was friendly and food was fresh and delicious. It's not the most extravagant place but don't let that deter you, perfect lunch spot :-)

Sit down and let the friendly waiter bring you the full meal---hummus, fatoush, eggplant, bread and the lightest, tastiest falafel ever. Drink glass after glass of mint tea and watch the drama of the city before you. Be amazed at how inexpensive the meal is and do it all again before you leave.
