We just returned from our ten day stay in Jordan. The base we were in Aqaba from which we made trips across the country. Thanks Moufid, owner of the agency ABOVE AND BELOW from Aqaba, which has organized for us two-day trip that included the Dead Sea, Bethany,Jordan River, Mount Nebo, Madaba, overnight in Amman,Amman tour that includes the amphitheater and... Forget hygiene if you are going to eat here. They, however got good falafel and hummos. I would recommend this place for breakfast. Its usually crowded also (it was packed during Ramadan for suhoor by local families), so the servers may not pay much attention to you. More of come in, dine, pay and leave. They got good tea too

Can't go wrong with the hummus, or falafel... I have backpacked the entire Middle East & this place STILL has the best.

A fantastic experience in downtown Amman, but do not expect the western approach to service here! You are seated close to other diners & the food is just brought to you - no menu! We visited for dinner, and discovered this is a wonderful way to sit with families and fellow travellers and indulge in hummus, pita, salad and falafel.... More

A truly authentic dining experience in downtown Amman. You can't beat their traditional arabic food. Order as much as you can eat as it costs next to nothing! It is a very basic restaurant but a great place to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of downtown Amman. A must for anyone visiting Amman.

We were fortunate to be taken to this restaurant by our local guide and each of the dishes were explained to us by the owner. We had a lot of fun with the kitchen staff as well and they allowed me to come into the kitchen and learn how some of the dishes were made. Delicious food and great company.... More

Although people say it is a traditional and old restaurant, where they like to go to at times, for it is not the best place to eat the transitional Jordanian food (Falafel and Hummus- ground chickpeas and tahini). There is no menu, and prices are not clear at all. It is not very clean as well. The location is very... More

Taking into consideration that it is Ramadan and low season when we visited, the service was super fast- we probably got our food within 2 mins of ordering. The standard meal includes falafel, tomato salad, hummus, olives and bread. The falafel and hummus were particularly tasty. It does feel a bit like quality fast street food. The only real downside...
