Description: A Timeless Tale Retold Nestled on the hilltop of an old Jordanian village...
A Timeless Tale Retold Nestled on the hilltop of an old Jordanian village and enclosed within the stone walls of an ancient settlement is Kan Zamaan-Arabic for once upon a time. Kan Zamaan was once the focal point of Khirbet Abu Jaber, an isolated rural area developed by merchant brothers for farming and ranching. The impressive 19th century estate-dating back to Ottoman rule-served as an agricultural warehouse and a horse barn before succumbing to ruin. The heritage estate's 21st century renovation into a restaurant incorporates this golden past into the modern, perfectly balancing the old and new. Today, Kan Zamaan is a distinguished venue that offers unique, authentic Oriental and local cuisine garnished with forgotten traditional flavors to delight local food lovers. Kan Zaman Restaurant consists of three distinct venues: the stable transformed into an elegant dining room, Bustan Kan Zaman (the garden), its stunning breezy patio overlooking the peaceful Al Yadoodeh greenery, and Bread & Salt, a bakery with homemade, preserved items from our pantry, offered fresh every day on its shelves. Oriental and local cuisine, authentic flavors and expertly made food, art and music and culture: all find their home within the ancient walls of Kan Zamaan. The legacy of once upon a time is now present...

Must try when in Amman

They have in and out door sitting arrangement, the outdoor for sure was better. The food was so good. Bar variety is limited. No WIFI. Staff was accurate but will be better if they smile. A bit far from Amman but worth the visit.

The new restaurant is much better than the one that existed years earlier in that beautiful old cattle like historic venue. Great mezzeh, the kibbeh Nayee is to die for, great grilled dishes including fresh fish. We enjoyed dining outdoors in a beautiful garden. Don't leave before trying the table side freshly prepared kunafeh..

+ Modern setup + Great service (especially from our hostess Majdi) + Relaxing with authentic lebanese music - The food was average, some dishes were even below average. - Compared to what it was previously, it's a very quite place, which is ok but remembering the old place makes you miss it's energy and dynamic nature. - It's only a... Last time I visited this place was 15 years ago. Has since been refurbished and was rather hesitant to visit again. Upon arrival warm greeting in a castle style atmosphere. Very attentive and helpful waiters always around you for those extra or forgotten requirements. Food was very fresh and superb. The hubrah neyah was the highlight - very pink and... More

This place is really makes you feel the touch of old home cooking and remind us of the family gathering and original menue of grandmother kitchen. We enjoyed different types of food at the same time there was a nice music. The prices are very reasonable and the sitting arrangement is comfortable . Kan Zaman is not far away from... More

I had the chance to have lunch in this restaurant. It is in midway between downtown and the international airport. Over a hill, the restaurant is located in a kind of an old citadel. the food is delicious, mostly lebanese dishes with spicy meat and the personnel is very helpful. I liked this restaurant.

This place was so much fun from the minute we walked in and watched the bakers making fresh pita in their stone oven. First class in every respect, from the beautiful and delicious mezze to the grilled entrees that followed. Came with a large group. We enjoyed learning about the history of this restaurant and the beautiful and interesting decor.... More

Although the venue is stunning, the food is far from being the best in Amman. While the freshly-baked bread can't be beat, the hummus, barbecue, and cheese rolls could use a bit of improvement. The service is also a bit slow, but the waiters really do their best to be helpful and accommodating. The complimentary watermelon is also a nice... More

The experience is great in a beautiful old unique barn... the interiors and lighting out of this world. Food: Arabic Lebanese.. excellent taste and the meat was perfect. The resturant is still not officially opened but a must visit for any visitor to Amman. it is located on the airport high way about 20 minutes drive by car..

Kan zaman was always the place to take any new comer for breakfast or a meal as it used to have Jordanian craft, silver and Galilee blown glass which is made in front of you and you can purchase them. The newly renovated restaurant was packed due to the long labours day weekend and I must admit every dish was... More
