Description: Café Noir is a long-established bistro in the heart of Tel Aviv's city, strategically placed between the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Rothschild Boulevard. It's considered aninstitution by Tel Avivians, and our regular customers are business and media people, artists and in fact anyone who appreciates a terrific atmosphere and good food.Cafe Noir extends over two levels, offering a choiceof intimate sitting areas and spacious seating that's equally suitable for businessmeetings or family celebration. The décor comprises dark wood furniture in classicstyle, a spacious and inviting bar, with oil paintings on the walls and art objects arranged on surrounding shelves. Soft lighting effects create the perfect dining atmosphere. On fine days we have outside seating so guests can watch the bustling life on the streets of Tel - Aviv.Café Noir is busy throughout the day and until the small hours – some enjoying a hearty breakfast, others dropping in for a business meeting, and later evening drinks at thebar. We offer a rich menu – such as our lunchtime starter of liver pate with pear confit, sirloin Carpaccio, and chilli shrimps. For main courses, it's a tough decision choosing between our renowned Café Noir schnitzels - chicken breast, pork, or milk-fed veal - and the meat dishes, lamb kebabs, hamburgers, entrecote. Fish, salads and seafood are always reliable options.

I usually only eat veal schnitzel in Zurich but Cafe Noir had it on the menu so when I saw it I said yes. And I was not disappointed. They serve 2 pieces that are large and flat, compared to one big piece in Zurich, but it was really tasty. And you can pick from 4 or 5 sides to... More

In a city filled with dining options, Cafe Noir seems to be one of everyone's favorites. They've got a great menu yet none of that seems to matter because 75% of everyone who walks in gets the same thing - schnitzel with mashed potatoes. Simply put, the best schnitzel in the city. Period. This corner bistro has amazing ambience and... More

We went to Cafe Noir in the middle of the week for lunch and enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is decorated in a French bistro style and is very plasant. The food was delicious. We had as first course grilled tuna on a corn bread. For main we ordered shnitzel and mushed potatos which are the best of their... More

Spending two weeks in Tel Aviv gave us plenty of opportunities to experience the great restaurants of that wonderful city, and Café Noir is one of them. The first two attempts we were not able to get in, but since we were staying just two blocks away (at the charming The Rothschild 71) we kept trying and on the third... More

If I could have given this 10 stars I would have given it 11. Everything about this restaurant is just fabulous. Lovely food and wine, absolutely fantastic and attentive service from Adi and her colleagues and great ambiance in the restaurant. Everyone from the Chef to the waiting staff and the reception staff deserve a big thank you. We come... More

This restaurant is difficult to get into, for some reason it is always full. Probably because it offers good value schnitzel-and-mash dishes. There are other good choices on the menu but more pricy as is the wine. Service is friendly but when it´s busy it may be slow. Outside seating available but not with any views, just a Tel Aviv... The service was a little scattered and the table was too small to fit dishes, utensils, etc. It was right across the street from our hotel (the Norman) which was very convenient.

If it's your first time at Cafe Noir, please order the schnitzel, not matter how tempting the other meals in the menu are. It' the BEST one in Tel Aviv. This is by far one of my favourite restaurants, and you can't go wrong, no matter what you order. Make sure to make a reservation.

Im really pleased to be able to update my previous review on Cafe Noir. On my last visit I felt very let down, so much so that I wrote about it here. To my surprise they took the trouble to call me. A lovely girl called Shir contacted me and apologised for the shoddy service and experience. She invited me... More
