if you love hummus this side walk eatery is the place for you ... No frills or scenic location ....just the real deal - great hummus! Customers are tel aviv residents who come for a bowl or two of great hummus, with pita. Kosher and closed shabbat.

I really like the hummus and the harissa (the piquant red sauce you can put on your hummus). The service is fast. It is not fancy, but only a yuppie and probably not tasty hummus place would be. It is open 24 hours a day other than shabbat (as it is kosher), so if you are hungry at 3am this... More

This place was just awesome. I've tried several hummus seller/restaurant even in the carmel market of Tel Aviv o in Jerusalem.... but Hummus Ashkara was the best ever. The atmosphere is basically that one of a street food corner... so few seats and common tables but It's really cheap... we spent less than 20 euros in 2 pax drinks included.... More

We find that small place with some table outside and eat a wonderful Hummus. The guys are all very nice. The price are good 24 ils for 2 pitas and a huge Hummus bowl! The felafel are very good too and also the Ashkara. If you want to eat good Hummus in Tel Aviv, you have to go there!

I've heard about Ashkara for many years, never actually made it there until last week. I admit that coming from northern Israel (near the Galil), my expectations for hummus are pretty high. And yes, the hummus at Ashkara was good; but I came away from the experience a bit disappointed. The reasons might be a bit nit-picky, but then this... More

Yes it is true that the Hummus is great here and it is cheap but the Reggae place on King George serves a better selection with a superior taste.
