the author of this review claiming to be from ramallah was never at Spoons. All the comments of restaurants in East Jerusalem are favourable and those in other areas of jerusalem, such as restaurant mahane yehuda and Spoons and Bardak are given poor reviews. The description of the view and other points is false. More

Hila Solomon's home / restaurant overlooking the Old City has the best and most imaginative food in the city. Hila has extraordinary knowledge of Israeli wines, food and culture, and is a superior hostess. Worth a long detour.

Everything but the food is excellent at spoons. The location -- in Yemin Moshe with a rooftop esplanade overlooking the Old City -- is spectacular. The room is elegant and ideal for substantive conversation because of the low noise level. The service is quite good. The only problem is that everything about the place leads one to expect an extravagantly... More

We had the privilege and pleasure of enjoying Hila's food and company for a second time. Last time (August 2013), we went for shabbat lunch in a party of 10. This time, we went in the evening and Hila kindly set up a table for 2 so my wife and I could enjoy a romantic meal a deux. It was... More

Thank you Hila Solomon! From my early email exchanges with Hila at Spoons -- tuned-in , friendly and welcoming-in-advance questions from her about what types of foods we like, etc. -- I kew this was going to be our most special night in Jerusalem. It was! This is not a restaurant, this is a "salon"-like dining experience in Hila's beautiful,... More

I'm a restaurant (and hotel) snob. I don't deny it or regret it. I judge everything by the highest standards. In Israel, I don't expect perfection. Spoons was therefore an unexpected pleasure. I visited Spoons in August 2013 - over a year ago (TripAdvisor won't allow me to state the visit was any earlier than November 2013) - for the... More

I can't enthuse enough about Spoons. We celebrated my niece's bat mitzvah there with fifteen guests. It was the best meal I had in Israel--and we ate such beautiful food while we were there--and also the most memorable experience. First, Hilla worked with our family to create a suitable menu for both the children and adults according to what would... More
