Great Food and Friendly Staff

I am quite surprised to read some of the reviews I see here about Alma. The food was very good and the Staff friendly. Here is a little bit about our meal. We were walking up Yosef Rivlin street. Friendly staff and good place is the only advantage of this restaurant. I wanted to show my firends some israeli cuisine, but was very dissapointed. Jerusalem mix without liver and poor mix of spices, onion in the dish not cooked enough. Hummus is not fresh and washy consistency. Salad accompanying the dish wasnt seasoned and the cucumber cut in big... More

We were attracted to the restaurant as we wanted Israeli food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Houmous, and Felafel were very good, the grilled eggplant only average, as was the schnitzel. There a many restaurants serving this style of food around the same area, so this would not be my first choice.

The food is eatable, but it's supermarket food. Not made on the spot. The kebab's are frozen ones and the hummus is from the supermarket. Taking 70 shekels for frozen kebabs and 32 for supermarket hummus is a bit of a joke... It's not delicious but not disgusting. But ending with a bill over 100 shekels for bottled water, kebabs... 3 kids 3 adults... everyone was happy! Kids wanted hot dogs, and kebobs... on the menu... steak we ordered was not on the menu, but was very tasty (hje said it was a special). The chumus with meats were very good, and the sweet potato soup was yummy, we tried the kibeh soup but i found it to be too... More

We had a great time. Fun small restaurant run by fun people in a great part of Jerusalem. Five of us were packed in and the servers seemed more like friends cooking for us in their homes rather than in a restaurant. Questions answered honestly and fair prices for good food.

I had the Jerusalem Mix which was one of the best dishes I have ever had anywhere in the world. A slight change to the presentation and It would not be out of place at a Michelin starred restaurant. It a not dish for everyone as it contains the chicken hearts, livers and spleens but I love that sort of... More

This is a lovely restaurant popular with local people and I can see why. The staff were attentive and the food cooked within view of the tables. All this in a bustling part of Jerusalem so good for people watching. An excellent selection of local dishes. i had the Jerusalem mix. i would recommend it!

They have an impressive array of soups which is especially nice in the winter. I had the Kubbe soup for dinner. It was very filling, and reasonably priced. The other kubbe soups ive had had a vegetable or beet base (like at nearby Rachmo's), this has a clear brothy base and was good, but I prefer a stronger base. The... More
