Great Italian food

The Mt. Zion hotel recommend this restaurant (a short walk from the hotel at the Cinematheque (there are no signs for the restaurant at the street level, so look for the Cinematheque sign). Dined with Israeli friends, and the waiter switch from Hebrew to English with no difficulty. Our menus were... read more

Lavan has this unique location - just in front of the walls of old Jerusalem , the views are so beautiful - so unique that you go there just for the location .... however ' while the food is OK - the service is so long and you need to repeatedly call a waiter - even if the restaurant is... More

We sat in the outside room, the back of the restaurant with the BEST view of Old City of Jerusalem as the sun was going down and the the lights were coming up with the magnificent glow of the walled city. If any reason to have a bite to eat here is for the view! It is located in the... More

We had lunch at this restaurant because we went to see a movie in the adjacent theater (the Cinematek). We sat at the balcony, with a very nice view of the Old City Wall and Mt. Zion. We ordered yam soup which was delicious, a small salad, and a Sicilian kebab with vegetables' stew and lentils, over a bruschetta. We... More

I really love Lavan. The food is fresh and delicoius without being presumptuous. I came here a few times before and after a movie and enjoyed it every time. Don't expect fancy dishes, but the service is friendly and efficient, the prices are fair and the food is enjoyable.
