After a preview of Ido Har's excellent documentary film "Princess Shaw", it was only natural to have our lunch in Lavan. We didn't need to reserve although if you plan to dine on Friday or Saturday, you should. Our waitress, and I regret not asking her name, was very helpful and quick. She was rushing all over-tending tables, quick to... More

Our bat mitzvah celebration traveling party had a spectacular and memorable dinner at Lavan on the Saturday evening of my daughter's simcha. They have a special menu for groups which can be easily ordered ahead of time. They serve the course in family style and the food was nothing short of spectacular. The salads were sumptuous and the gnocchi, risotta,... More

Our waitress was wonderful!! Brought us a taste of the soup, was very honest about which wine by the glass to order, and even shared a recipe with me. As for the food, the pizza was a great shared dish for my kids and my husband and I loved the fish and seafood stew. Make sure to get a table... More

Great location. Has outdoor terrace with views of the old city. Menu is not large, but a good selection of mostly Italian influenced dishes. Salads were great. Sop was the veal. You can also make a light snack of appetizers. Full bar, decent selection of wines. Very friendly staff. Recommended.

The Mt. Zion hotel recommend this restaurant (a short walk from the hotel at the Cinematheque (there are no signs for the restaurant at the street level, so look for the Cinematheque sign). Dined with Israeli friends, and the waiter switch from Hebrew to English with no difficulty. Our menus were in English, our friends in Hebrew. This is an... More
