As you probably know, most of the restaurants in Jerusalem are closed at Shabes, from Friday evening to late Saturday night. Only a few are open, so the choice "where to eat during the Shabes" is not too big. I would definitely recommend "Lavan in the Cinematheque" for the following reasons: 1/ good service 2/ good food, including a nice... More

We went here just before going to see a film in the cinemateque. The food was very disappointing, reminiscent of mediocre hotel food. We had minestrone soup, antipasti and pizza - and none of them were decent. Skip the food, have a glass of wine at the bar or on the terrace and enjoy the view before a film

Great bread and olives for start, as well as mashroom pasta and the cihicken liver. They ofer few kinds of Antipasti from a nice pass around buffet which is clever idea. Andrei.

There aren't many restaurants open in Jerusalem on Friday night & Saturday. This is one of our preferred ones. We live in Jerusalem & love the beautiful view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the porch. I ordered the bass which was looked aesthetic & was done well. My wife & sister-in-law ordered a salad & minestrone soup which... More

Hi everybody, we had a family event at the Lavan a week ago small family party for my gorgeous nephew and we had such a great time. Green Salad was interesting , Moroccan bread was fresh and tasty (ask for refill twice) and my favorite - slices of soft beef with a red wine sauce... pure pleasure. The staff was... More

Food was very tasty and the draught beer was great. We sat in the balcony and enjoyed the great views and good service. I ordered the mushroom pasta which was excellent. The bill for two pasta main dishes and 2 half litres of beer was 192 shekels. I will go again.

The enterance looks like a simple coffee house, but the true is that this is one of the great restaurants I have try here around. we have been offered a speciel capaccio which was so gentle and perfect, then we took the ravioli and the veal fillet dish that served with a great well-done mush potatoes. disserts were ok. We loved the smoked salmon blinis (topped with caviar) and the Fish Tartar. They have a flair here and we loved every bite! The service was excellent!

This restaurant is overlooking the old city walls. The food is above average but not amazing, great for s casual family get together. I want to specifically mention the great hostess Natalie - she was extremely helpful and friendly, and helped us find a table for a bug group although the restaurant was full. Great hospitality!
