No doubt that this is one of the best restaurants in Jerusalem

Took the tasters menu and it was just delicious beyond description. Tasted food that I would never order under normal circumstances and everything was just totally delicious. Have been here quite a few times and will definitely be back.

I went with my fiance and ordered the tasting meal for 2. Firstly, the food was sublime, varied and consistently excellent. Some of the fish reminded me of my grandma's cooking from Calcutta, whilst the salads were delicate and perfectly balanced. The meat courses were rich and flavourful, but what impressed us the most was how each dish heralded from... More

Whilst tucked away to a degree, Hachatzer was the culinary highlight of our time in Israel. The restaurant was airy, well lit and full of life but it was in the food where it really excelled. The Beef Fillet Carpaccio was one of the best starters I have come across, bursting with flavour and exquisitely constructed, the Sea Bass, whilst... More

We were there on a previous trip and loved the food and service. We returned last month (without a reservation) and were given the "only" available table, next to the bathroom door. When my wife got up to leave, another table miraculously appeared. This bothered me. The food was not up to my expectations. It is also in a relatively... More

Four of us ate dinner here. Oxtail tagine (a special), entrecote, moulard breast, chicken livers. The food was all very good; service was all right. The wine list could have included some lesser known good wineries - was heavy in Carmel, Yarden, Galil Mountain and Yatir. Desserts were a bit strange. A streuzel turned out to be some chopped fruit... More

A wonderful kosher mediterranean restaurant. All the food is fresh and good. They have a courtyard. We had a great time.

I went here with my family when they came to visit Israel. We are very picky when it comes to restaurants because we are all foodies but I have to say that this restaurant was a great choice if you are in the mood for meat. Service and atmosphere were both fantastic. Food was really good as well. You got... More

We have not been to Jerusalem for three years. Hachatzer was arguably our best meal so far this week. I had the veal main course which was delicious. Service was outstanding. Great atmosphere. The location is a little hard to find but not a problem. We were a party of 8 and we spent about 1325 NIS which is not... More

To begin they lost our reservation, and we stood around in a drafty doorway for 20 minutes while the sorted it out. The appetizers were adequate but the the theme of the entrees was GREASE. Yes "Grease is the word." Service was indifferent, and totally broke down between the two sittings. We were charged for an item that was not... More

We had the tasting menu, and though it was very expensive (230 shekels per head), there were some really great dishes, and part of the experience is, of course, being stuffed full before main courses arrive. Having said that, I wouldn't get the tasting menu again, because now I know what to order: the Asian bass as an appetizer off... More
