Like other reviewers, I stumbled upon this place while walking along Jaffa Street. I am vegetarian, like to eat vegan, and prefer casual dining while solo, so this place was perfect. I ate vegan -- the lentil soup and vegetable pie for dinner, and a piece of vegan cheesecake to try later. There are outside tables for enjoying the weather... More

We were very excited to stumble upon this restaurant on Jaffa. As vegetarians we don't always have a lot of choice and/or have to travel farther afield to find the local vege joint. This place is centrally located on Jaffa not far from the old city and has so much to choice from. You can look at all of the... More

I go to the Emek Refaim branch with my family very often. We're vegan and this is one of the only restaurants in town where you have a large variety of vegan dishes - not only salads and warm dishes, but also nice pies, and great desserts. The price is a little high for a self-service restaurant with basic furniture,... More

This superb restaurant is also at 19 Emek Refaim in the German Colony of Jerusalem. The staff are helpful, warm and friendly, the system is great - I chose the salad and hot bar option (56 shekel or about $19) and was able to pile up 2 plates with as much as I wanted from their lovely selection of about... If you like tasty vegetarian food then this is the place for you. At this small self-service restaurant conveniently located in the center of town (on Jaffa Street, near Zion square) you can choose from several options - make your own salad from a variety of vegetables or put together a plate of hot food (baked tofu, cooked vegetables, quinoa,... Normally. Which is why I am well qualified to write a review on behalf of the omnivores out there. The good news is that you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. Yes, there's the usual salad stuff but also some really flavourful pastas and quiches. Add to that really friendly service and a great vibe and its a surprising winner.... More

My non vegetarian son and I ate at the village green twice in June. The hot buffet, salad bar, quiche and pizza were all good. The peanut sauce was especially good.

I've been many times before, but they have opened a new branch in the German Colony in Jerusalem and the food is quite average (or below) and has become very expensive. The dishes hardly ever change and I must say they are not that good - most are very oily and/or slightly charred and in any case mushy/over-cooked. The fresh... More
