Unique venue, don't bother with a window seat

The Maiden's Tower is gorgeous! Such a beautiful castle with the most romantic restaurant in the middle of the Bosphorus! The food, service, atmosphere, everything was just magical!!

If you are a foreign visitor, you must visit this small castle. History of this structure is interesting. You can use boats hourly departing from Kabatas. View of the tower is nice. If you are lucky, you can see dolphins. We were. But I don't have any idea about the restaurant.

If you are in Istanbul, it is well worth the time to visit this island in the middle of the Bosphorus to enjoy the fantastic views and good food. It is a bit expensive but, in my opinion, worth it as the views are fantastic. You can take a free shuttle boat from either side of Istanbul. The restaurant, itself,... More

I missed the memo that this is a romantic restaurant and focused on eating dinner between Asia and Europe. I went with two of my friends and we were the ones in the restaurant that were not couples. Overall, the experience was wonderful and unique. The food was average (except for the smoked salmon tower) and VERY overpriced. However, to... More

Our concierge booked this for us and arranged for the taxi to take us to the right spot. The private boat was located among other boats but there were plenty of people to ask that got us to the right one. The island has a lot of history and folklore surrounding and is for couples. We saw a marriage proposal... More

You must travel by boat to reach this island restaurant! A Charming venue, that actually serves fine Turkish wine.

Following a recommendation from a friend we booked dinner here for our last night stay in Istanbul and it was a delightful treat! The setting made it kind of magical. We were picked up by private boat and were immediately made aware by those on board that this was a venue mainly for couples having a romantic evening together. The... More

This restaurant has a really unique location, namely in the intersection of the Bosphorus where the two continents of Asia and Europe meet. We went there for a late breakfast and enjoyed the magical views over the river, but they have good meals at all times of the day.

The Maiden's Tower (Kız Kulesi) is an iconic and historic monument to fine dining in Istanbul. The restaurant is located in a tower on a small island in the middle of the Bosphorus, with views of the European and Asian parts of Istanbul on either side. It really is a must to dine in this fascinating location, particularly in the... More

Staying in Uskudar

Neighborhood Profile
Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighborhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
