Food is upfront, so you point to what you want. You are then seated, and the food is brought to your table. Our food was terrific. We had a chard dish, a lentil dish, a large köfte, and a meat stew. Every dish was both simple and full-flavored. I intended to take photos, but the food was so good that... More

I was lucky to go to this restaurant with two Istanbullus and so the menu was very accessible. The lahmacun were particularly good to eat, especially with the lovely salad and the ezme dip rolled into it. Also good were the four types of lamb kebap, made with deliciously tender lamb. Even better was the price of a meal, from... More

The food was fine, with opportunity of tasting many different turkish specialities, and we where visiting the place a extra time, because of the good food, but be aware not to use your credit card at this place. The first time we had food at ciya the tried to make 2 transactions from my credit card, but as they told... More

Ciya, a fixture in the lively nightlife of the neighborhood of Moda, has received many international accolades. I've been here each of the 3 times I've been to Istanbul, including New Year's Eve 2011, and twice on the last visit in 2014. You can walk in and point at what you want in the kitchen, or order from the menu.... More

No visit to Istanbul is complete without going to Asia for lunch! Taking the ferry to Kadikoy gives you a new perspective on Istanbul and beautiful views of the city and bridges. And the food there, well Ciya is a well known to foodies and food editors for its amazing array of dishes. Do browse the counter before going to... More

We visited as a family with my wife and 2 children . Let me start with the positives , the food is good and the daily specials menu has some really interesting dishes. Not the best we had in Istanbul but good. The negatives We ordered main course of x3 daily specials and a mixed kebab plate , when the... More

This is an experience of a rich and wonderful food culture. From the minute Polot welcomed us at the door to our last bite, we marveled at the wonderful combinations of flavors and tastes. I will remember our meal here as among the best in a lifetime of travel around the world!

This is not a fancy, highend restaurant. Simple and different cousins. I tried "perde pilavı" and "dede sakalı". It is a good place for business travellers where you usually go for meat dishes or standart stuff. Vegetable based many dishes with good taste. For drink, unique green color "nevruz şerbeti" is worth to try.

Went there twice, once late evening around 9.30pm and food was almost finished. Second time, went for lunch. Clearly, time to go is lunch or early evening as late evening everything is almost finished esp if you are non vegetarian as was case for my fellow colleagues who went for dinner with me. Unlike a typical restaurant, you need to... More

I visited this fabulous gem of a restaurant last month on the advice of a colleague, who found it during his holidays last summer. The food is truly beyond belief - the testures and flavours were exquisite and unusual combinations had been put together effectively. Service was friendly, rapid and efficient. When we admired the plates, we were presented with... More
