Always great everytime I visit. I make a point to try a different dish each time. Lentil soup and salad bar are a great way to start the mean, then I would personally recommed the pistaschio kebab (perfectly cooked, moist, flavoursome), or the ciya kebab (succulent meant in crispy bread and cheese) or the beef mince stew. It's always a... More

I'm an American, and have been traveling to Turkey for 30 years. I finally went to Ciya a year ago and have been back now four more times during a total of a month over here. The food is simply spectacular. So many dishes appear to be traditional Turkish items, and the seasoning and preparation are unique and wonderful--e.g. the... More

We made a special trip to Çiya because they serve dishes from eastern Turkey and we made the most of it by totally indulging ourselves by having a little bit of everything! It's a well established restaurant - actually they have three venues virtually next door to each other. The one that serves just meze and kebab also serves alcohol.... More

Had dinner at Ciya Sofrasi - location is quite convenient as I was staying at the doubletree nearby and is in a colorful and lively neighborhood. Ciya sofrasi offers excellent local food at moderate prices. Was not too hungry that night and ordered a full plate of mezze from a buffet. All of them were excellent and I paid 12... More

Ciya in Kadikoy on the Asian side of Istanbul is three small restaurants of which Sofrasi specializes in salads, soups and stews. Most have their origins in regional rural cooking with recipes carefully researched and recreated by chef Musa Dagdeviren. What's cooking will change from day to day. The meat stuffed whole quince dish I had will remain in my... More

A traditional Turkish restaurant with a twist - extremely cheap and extremely good. This is a good excuse to take a ferry and go to the Asian part of Istanbul, the less touristy part of the city. Their yogurt is something I won't stop eating. Try everything and rediscover flavours and spices you didn't even know they exist. They also... More

We ventured to the Asian side of Istanbul just for this restaurant and I could say it was worth all the effort. Food is divine. Need I say more? I was sad I only had the chance to eat here once during my trip to Istanbul. I would definitely visit again!

My wife and I ate here during a visit to the Asian part of Istanbul. The best part was the egg plant stuffed with lamb meat. Also, the meat stew was very good. This is as close as you will get to Turkish home cooking.

The owners of Ciya travelled to almost to every corner of Turkey and collected only localy known or long time forgotten recipies, they have now 3 restaurants on Guneslibahce Sokak 43 | Kadikoy, Istanbul, Turkey, 2 on the right side for Kebabs and oven backed foods 1 on the left side of the same street for home cooked food, my...
