Have traveled to Turkey many times - this last time I visited Istanbul a friend took me to Ciya Sofrasi to experience different dishes and flavors of Turkish cuisine - we were not disappointed. While the menu includes typical dishes - diners here should be explorers and try some of the dishes with different spices, sauces etc. that span history... More

The service was amazing. There is even someone at the restaurant who speaks really good english (didn't get his name). The restaurant is located in a lively area only few minutes walk from the ferry. The food was good, if not a little cool. This could be because my meal was with yoghurt. My husband enjoyed his meal which he... More

This is a heaven for foodies. Amazing array of freshly prepared food from all over Turkey. Nice staff. Menu changes daily, seasonally. You need to eat here several times to experience the whole menu. Best to go with a large group and get tasting menu.

Although this restaurant has taken up most of the street it’s on, we were a bit disappointed in the food. Perhaps because of the hype? We came on a recommendation from a local friend, and ordered the stuffed eggplant, the lamb intestine sausages, the rice, and the falafels. It was good, but lukewarm or even cold, which was unfortunate. Perhaps... More

I eat in this restaurant dinner and it was very good. The variety of the food, you have home traditional Anatolian Turkish food, Mangal food, bakery , very good deserts , the serve was also very good, so what I can write is that you go and eat there

Truly wonderful food--from mezes to desserts. The meal at Ciya Sofresi was the high point of many great meals in Istanbul.

I came here as it was recommended by one of Australia's top chefs, Neil Perry, who said Ciya rocked his world, well it certainly did not rock my world! The food was instantly forgettable, no big flavours going on here, the service was ordinary. After choosing my food it was left to sit on the counter inside for five minutes... More

The food here is amazing, as is the service. Trust the waiter when he tells you how to order the food and then dive right in. Everything is delicious. Go hungry. i heard they had a mulberry juice so I asked for it - it was delicious. The mezes, the bread, the mains - everything was great. The service was... More

My husband and I had one of those meals during which you just grin idiotically because the food tastes so good. Highlights were the Murc (mastic tree) mezze, kisir mezze, yogurt and lamb soup (the broth was incredible!), and the desserts. We loved the preserved tomato, pumpkin, and whole green walnuts. I suggest going twice: once to try everything and... More
