The service was ok, but food (eggplants) was not really what I expected; bread with olives and a very tasty green sauce was good, but they brought it without being asked for (and they charged me!). I didn't order anything else, also because they didn't have that much on the menu. I don't think I'll go there again.

I'm writing this review as we didn't actually EAT here, we just sat down, looked at menu and left.... The atmosphere is not really right for dinner, I think as a kinda of uni hangout place with a laptop at lunchtime its perfect, but not for a nice dinner (kind of like eating dinner at starbucks) We were still kind... All we ordered was an Eggplant Börek, which was soggy and luke warm. My boyfriend had lentil patties, which had no flavor. The apple tea did not taste like apple at all. We were given bread with olive oil and a herb butter with our meal. When the bill came we noticed we were charged for the bread even though... More

No doubt the food, vegetarian varieties and the location is great. However, the service is the worst I have ever seen. Been to Zencefil many times as I am a vegetarian, not once I have left the restaurant without arguing with the waiter(s). I kept on going as the food is really good but when I think of the poor... whenever i went there, the stuff was rude, and i met a discussion between a waiter and a customer. the meal was served very late because the order was taken late. vegetarian food is good, but the vegan choices are not much and not good.

We totally loved the place and the food. This place was opened 21 years ago. We loved their fruit wine, plum tart, zener I'll dessert and quiche with artichokes

We were excited to dine at Zencefil on a recent trip to Istanbul because I am vegetarian and we had seen the restaurant listed in several books and magazines targeted towards both tourists and locals. While the space was really charming, with exposed brick walls and a nice outdoor courtyard, the service was unfriendly leading to an overall unremarkable atmosphere.... More

I had dined here on my last trip to Istanbul almost 8 years ago, but forgotten the name. I was walking to Parsifal and saw this place just before Parsifal. Immediately, the memories came back, and I recognized the beautiful courtyard and garden, and the menu written on the blackboard etc. I skipped Parsifal (for now) and stepped in here... More

On a failed attempt to eat at Parsafil, I ended up here as it is just a block away. This place is almost all vegetarian (there was one chicken dish on the menu) and had a lot of vegan options. The staff is able to knowledgeably point out what is vegan. They aren't overly friendly, but I was surprised to... More

Amazing interior design, lovely menu unfortunately staff is really grumpy. That can turn a beautiful cozy atmosphere into an uncomfortable place. In the end of our meals i was a little afraid to ask for count:(
