Just had to try this one out. Great location in Sultanahmet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had lunch while taking in the sights and enjoyed the stufed zucchini so much, we came back for dinner on our way to our hotel! The food was good. Plenty of choices. We ate downstairs so plenty of people and "traffic" so... More

The Pudding Shop is a busy place, but you pick the food you want from two different stations, and they get it right to you. We ate at a long table upstairs, and other people who we didn't know were seated next to us. It was a chance to talk with other tourists about what they'd seen and done around... More

This was one of the few restaurants in the Sultanahmet where we were not intercepted by any aggressive touts trying to force us to take a seat. Thus, the first impression was positive. The food was maybe not the best in the town but it represented a good value for money. The service was a bit hasty as it would... More

We didn't actually know the history until we got there but had been drawn in by the name. As vegetarians it was fantastic to see some variety of food on display in the cafeteria style restaurant. It was perfectly fine, especially the spinach and cheese. Puddings did not look quite as tempting ad the name would suggest though. A little... More

If it looks like only tourists are eating there...then it's probably just for tourists. We discovered this the hard way. We were disappointed with the food and the service even though the restaurant has a somewhat famous repuatation

This spot has great history. It was the former meeting point of hippies/backpackers en route from Europe to travel to Asia in the 70's. It runs more like a sit down fast food restaurant, but we were really happy with our meal. Order the stuffed eggplant with meat and lentils.

This is close to the Sultanahmet tram stop, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc. Food was not great, but better than expected. You choose your food from the display case, which makes it easy. Mix of locals and tourists. Service a bit abrupt, which was fine, but the waiter tried to pad the bill, which was not.

After reading in my guide book that this restaurant was overrated, I was a bit dismayed to find my group was going there for lunch. However, I was pleasantly surprised and found the food good and the ambiance as expected in the meyhane type of eating experience. It was all rather jolly and fun. Maybe it's not like it was... More

This was the ONE place where we found good value and authentic food and no-one cared that we were tourists. No alcohol, but tasty food and a very interesting experience
