A good choice in a hurry

We were on an organised day trip of Instanbul and this restaurant was one of several pointed out by our Guide. A good choice and speedy service. I echo the comments made by Mike C. We were able to pay in Turkish Lira or Euros - or to use a credit card - which was very useful. Toilet facilities... read more

We were disappointed by the food, staff, and cleanliness of this recommended restaurant. While it is cheap, my son paid the price with two days worth of stomach distress (yes, it could have been something else, but the correlation was uncanny). I would suggest you avoid it. There are too many other restaurants choices available to make the risk a... More

We stopped here for lunch whilst visiting the main square area and really enjoyed the experience. We had a good look at the great displays of hot fresh food before going in and once inside the very friendly helpful staff explained what the various foods were in much more detail. We sat at our table, placed our food and drinks... More

Good food, not very expensive and easy to select (point out) your selection and it'll be at your table shortly. Restaurant is apparently owned by the same party that owns the nearby Blue House hotel--a great hotel. Also, the Pudding Shop was a hangout for 1960/70's era trekkers.

It is an awesome taste of local food in buffet style. It is cheap, quick, and very close to the main attractions of the blue mosque, hagia sophia, the cistern, even the bazzar.

This place was famous in the '60s. I have had better and cheaper food in Istanbul, but it is convenient and surprisingly good given that it is in what is probably the most touristic spot in all of Istanbul. You look at what they have on offer, chose a few dishes, and they bring it to your table. We were... More

.. Its also called the Pudding Shop. The only restaurant that was open before 10:00 am serving breakfast, with soup. The soup was amazing.. lentil soup with a touch of cheese, my first. The service is quite friendly. I understand it is quite a popular restaurant with international tourist for the choices of western breakfast i.e. scrambled eggs, toast etc..... More

Of course the Pudding Shop is not what it was in the 60's; me either. It is a reasonable place to have something to eat and as the food is displayed, easy to order. Actually I like most any of the restaurants-with-displayed-food on Divanyolu It's good enough. In the pudding shop, the pudding is also good.

Stop in for a quick bite, hot tea and Wi-Fi. Service was friendly and the food was okay. Nothing over-the-top.
