Very tasteless food. Bland. Overcooked. Staff lack basic customer service skills. There are plenty of other places that are much better. Don't bother.

The Pudding Shop is located just across the street from the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque, which makes it very convenient and attractive to tourists. The food is ok, but the prices are exorbitant given what you get. Spent 100 lira for two entrees and a vegetable side, and was the most expensive dinner we had in a week in... More

Having been there before in 1975 when l was on the hippy trail l was so surprised to find it was still there. The food was great, huge portions and really tasty but best of all were, yes, you've guessed it, the puddings! Everything you could think of, cinnamon custards, yoghurt, sponges, baclavas, coconut desserts, just about everything you could... More

Our guide took us here for lunch, he is friends with the owners, but we were far too full from breakfast to partake of the main courses. Instead we ordered meza and fried calamari which was extremely delicious. We learned from him an alternative to sweet lemonade; soda (which refers to club soda in Turkey) with lemon juice.

Having just arrived in the city we wanted to find somewhere quick and easy. The Pudding Shop was perfect for this. The food was fine and pretty good value and there was some reasonable choice for vegetarians. Staff were friendly and the place seemed clean. Recommend the puddings!

We loved it, we went with a group on a tour and our tour guide recommended it as the best value and food, and he was correct it really was. They have all kinds of choices of meats and rice and side dishes as per the local cuisines with various drinks to fit anyones palate. All in all a very... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
