We never had a pudding here!!

This restaurant is very close to the Topkapi palace complex and so is very popular with tour guides, and since it is one of only a very few restaurants in the area that serves alcohol, it is very popular indeed. We had fish, mezze and kebabs, and while the mezze and kebab were okay, the fish was... read more

In my week long stay I ate at the Pudding Shop twice. I thought it was superb both evenings I ate here. My meal was pretty good and the price was okay for what I ordered. I also ordered some rice pudding that was good. Lastly I finished off my meal with some apple tea. You have to finish off... More

I think this place is only surviving because of its fame in history. The service was terrible at the lunch time I visited, and it wasn't even busy! The food was very ordinary and the price way too high for what we got.

Amazing place to finish your historical peninsula tour in Istanbul. Have been there many times last couple of years. Sustainable management I presume since the quality of food, price policy, service approach is always the same. I have no idea why they named this place "pudding shop" as I never had pudding there but only perfectly cooked amazing Turkish food... More

Food is great and service is outstanding. Our tour guide suggested this unique place and it is fantastic just to sit and relax with friends.

Have been here a number of times over the years from 1985 to present. Never had a problem with the food and the management very friendly. Not a stylish place but very good Turkish food in a very handy location and prices good.

Our Turkish guide led us here during a break in a very hectic sightseeing tour. He insisted we had to eat early. What a gem! At first we were unsure what to order from the display as Turkish food was a mystery to us. However we took pot luck, picking things we thought looked like something we knew and our... More

After a half day tour of Blue mosque and Aya Sofia we had lunch at this outlet. Food is displayed and you select what you want and a chef will plate it for you. I loved the salmon and the lamb shawarma. It can get crowded over lunch time. It is close to the Grand Bazaar for an afternoon shopping.

I first visited the Pudding Shop in 1973 when I was 17 years old. I was back packing around Europe and Asia and it was the meeting place for hippies and travellers alike. I loved it then and I loved it today. It was quite emotional for me too as it has and has, the changed! The owner is the... More

Having heard so much about this much vaunted restaurant, even my Turkish pal back in Scotland recommended this establishment. So we made a visit one night for a meal and what a mistake that was. First Impressions were it just looked like a greasy spoon cafe back home, and stunk of frying oil not a good sign either. I have... More
