This is a beautiful restaurant with a strong concept: they recreate some meals that fed the emperors. Almost all of the menu sounds interesting and weird at the same time, but you stay at least curious about what will show up in front of you. Very interesting restaurant set in own grounds right by a beautiful church museum. Attentive service and an unusual menu. The food was good but not WOW. Wine was OK. A very enjoyable lunch.

Asitane Restaurant is the pioneer Ottoman Cuisine Restaurant in town! Located in a beautiful historical building at Edirnekapi (right next to Chora Museum), Asitane goes deep into historical Ottoman Palace Kitchen.. The owner and managing director Batur takes care of each guest personally. Make sure to try their brand new main course dish Oglak (baby goat and/or yeanling) and Kuzu... More

I found this wonderful restaurant here on Tripadvisor and am so glad! It is RIGHT outside of the Chora Church, so perfect for lunch after viewing the amazing mosaics and frescos. The food and service were top-notch and the prices were reasonable. I can't imagine anyone not loving every minute here. They even watched our luggage for us when we... More

Nothing spectacular - if you're in the area then maybe go for a visit but don't travel out of your way for it. We had a set/taster menu with wines. The wines were quite literally the worst we've ever tasted - ever. The food was sometimes ok - sometimes entirely forgettable. Service was amateur.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at the Intercontinental Hotel Istanbul. It is a fine dining establishment but we were dressed casually, ready for a hike along the Wall of Constantinople, and they still let us in;) The food was quite unique and tasted like nothing we had experienced before. I would recommend it if you are... More

Asitane restaurant is next to the not to be missed Chora church. Its in an historically interesting part of istanbul just inside the byzantine walls a stones throw from where faith sultan mehmet entered constantinople after the successful conquest in 1453. You could visit this restaurant after visiting the church, walking next to the walls and wandering around the balat... More
