We had almond soup, pastry filled with walnuts and olive and spinach main dish. We are vegetarian and they certainly serve couple of vegetarian dishes. Prices are steep but food was really delicious. Tea were around 5 to 10 tl. Main course was about 35 to 40 tl. Definitely must try place. And its right next to chora museum.

This was a welcome refuge on a rainy day. The food was delicious and served promptly. The waiters were very helpful and coped well with my gluten free diet,

This restaurant is billed as serving fishes from Ottoman times for the Palaces, which is possibly thee case but for me it didn't live up to expectations. The ambience is very nice - it has an indoor section and a nice garden setting. The service is good but not exceptional. The food however was really quite bland. The cauliflower with... More

This is an Ottoman, not a Turkish restaurant, in that it is an historic restaurant with all the dishes researched from the Ottoman period. The food is fantastic, my highlight was the lamb shank. We were a party of 7 and shared all the dishes in the centre of our table. The location is about 25 mins from Sultanahmet, so... More

Best restaurant of our trip in istambul by far!  Decoration is top class and prices are honnest regarding the standing of the decoration.  it is not so expansive regarding other restaurants we have done in Istambul. Waiters are kind respectfull.  The Best is to try ottoman receipes from the XV century. We asked some advices because all dishes are unknown... More

Had dinner here. Thoroughly enjoyable. Not inexpensive but very interesting food, well presented, served in a quiet garden. The almond soup as well as the chestnut soup were superb. The staff accommodated all our requests including willingness for us to share individual portions. We were delighted with the combinations of spices and foods. A most enjoyable evening.

We went to visit Chora church (great mosaics and frescoes). It was lunchtime -- so we headed right next door to the fantastic Asitane. We'd heard great things -- no disappointment. Food and service were both excellent.

If you have a plan to visit kariye museum you must also visit asitane too. Delicious food, great service, lovely place. But it may be too crowded with tourist tours

A place recommended by many guides, a few steps from the splendid Chora Church museum (currently partially closed for restauration but still well-worth visiting). It doesn't disappoint, and I would have probably given it five stars if I hadn't had a dinner the night before in another Ottoman cuisine restaurant, Matbah, near Hagia Sofia. Very good, but not as refined... More
