This traditional restaurant has invited different kinds of people also including our group and wanted to new taste for 2015 menu. We have accepted this invitation and filled in survey forms along the dinner. Tasting menu has consisted of cover borek, kid kebab, turnip pickle, three different kinds of rice, honey halva, kadaifi with fruit. The foods were delicious in... More

I really liked what this restaurant was about. Not being local nor a food historian I can't really comment on the authenticity of it's Ottoman era dishes but as a foodie it was something new and also delicious. I had almond soup to start and a generous mince-stuffed melon as a main; finishing with a superb Helatiye (milk pudding with... More

This restaurant is located in a quaint neighborhood in northern Istanbul and it is only 50m away from one of the most beautiful sights of the city: the Chora Church. I was recommended to go and visit this place by a Turkish city guide and I have to say that she was so damn right. The old ottoman cuisine served... More

If you visit the incredibly beautiful Chora Museum (unmissable), which is quite far from the Centre of Istanbul, you may well consider the option to stop for lunch or an early dinner in this restaurant. It prepares delicious old ottoman recipes. The place is really nice and smart, the service very good and the food excellent. I recommend the goose... More

We came here 10 years ago and agreed that it was among the best meals of our lives. Now not so much. I don't know if they've change owners or management or what but the magic is gone. Sorry.

As a foodie, I do extensive research on places to eat before I travel. From my research, Asitane kept coming up from different sources and articles I read. This restaurant on my must eat list and I made reservations months in advance for dinner. I took a 40 minutes taxi ride with my husband and two friends just to eat... More

This is a beautiful restaurant with a strong concept: they recreate some meals that fed the emperors. Almost all of the menu sounds interesting and weird at the same time, but you stay at least curious about what will show up in front of you. We were three girls and each one ordered a different thing, all of them, delicious... More

Very interesting restaurant set in own grounds right by a beautiful church museum. Attentive service and an unusual menu. The food was good but not WOW. Wine was OK. A very enjoyable lunch.

Asitane Restaurant is the pioneer Ottoman Cuisine Restaurant in town! Located in a beautiful historical building at Edirnekapi (right next to Chora Museum), Asitane goes deep into historical Ottoman Palace Kitchen.. The owner and managing director Batur takes care of each guest personally. Make sure to try their brand new main course dish Oglak (baby goat and/or yeanling) and Kuzu... More
