OK for our first meal, but you can do better elsewhere

We ate here on our fist night in Istanbul. The meal was fine, but nothing spectacular. The other local restaurants offered better food and service in our opinion. One of the waiters puts a lot of effort in, I think he is the lead, but the others did not appear to be interested.

Every restaurant approaches you right at your face, however this place, the approach was polite, and we told him we would come back, everytime we passed by he reminded and welcomed us. And it was worth it on the 3rd day, the bread was hot, the mexican chicken we tried was well cooked and was delicious, also one should try... More

I was there with my mum. They charged us 300 TL for LUNCH. Mixed kebab and some meze dishes. This is a rip off. I just had lunch in one of the best restaurants in town and I paid 120TL and we ordered double the food. I travel a lot and I'm generous but I hate when people steal my... More

One of the great kebab places in sultahanamet. The service is generous and drinks are not that costly. Food especially pottery kebabs are great. Nice place overall...!!!!

The food is average, nothing special. The worst things happened: They didn t accept the credit card (maybe just for don't pay the commissions) and we paied with cash. The bill was 69TL and they have spontaneously "stolen" 1TL. Are you so poor?? Not raccomanded... at all!

I am surprised to see the negative reviews about this place on here. Yes, they stand out the front and are a bit pushy, but all the restaurants in this area do that. There are far worse restaurants in the nearby vicinity. We found the staff helpful and friendly, and the food delicious. We went in a quiet time, in... More

We dined here on our last night in Istanbul. Lovely atmospheric place, off the main street so a bit quieter. Excellent service and the waiter even recommended excellent dishes, inlcluding a delicious meze starter. Nicely topped off with a free cay and baklava!

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
