Best local food

Well if you wanna eat best local food in Taksim you should try this place. They have many options and price is okey. Very international place, and who works in there also friendly. Highly recommend

Very disappointing, saw the reviews here and lonely planet, there was no vibe though the decor was cute, food was one of our worst meals. Very bland, no flavours, meals came so quickly they were simply reheated in the back. Service was nice but not attentive. Big shame, would not recommend.

It was a couple of months ago when we visited Klemuri, but we really enjoyed the food and the wine. A small restaurant, we were not rushed and could enjoy our wine in peace. Tasty food, though I cant remember what we had. Would highly recommend.

Since one member in our group was vegetarian, we were really looking forward to try Klemuri. While Turkish food is great, most restaurants don't have a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans. This place offers multiple tasty options for vegetarians and vegans while offering healthy meat options for the rest. The food is yummy, the place is very cozy... More

Worst food experience in the Taksim area. We went there based on TA reviews because the place is very hard to find otherwise. What a let down TA!!

If you read through the comments on this side you'll get the impression that "Klemuri" is a vegetarian or vegan restaurant, it is not! The starters were all vegetarian (and some vegan), however, I guess serving cold non-meat starters is normal for the turkish cuisine. Only one main meal was vegetarian (not vegan though!). Still, the food was good (and... More

Loved this spot, a little oasis in a sea of traditional Turkish. The cuisine is delicate, a little different to the standard although undeniably Turkish. Great for a nice long lunch and some special wines to try too - not to miss!

Good value for money in a cosy café-like environment. The Meditareinen plate to share was very tasty, our main courses (Goulash and Almond Chicken) were ok.

After a slightly drizzly tramp around the shops, we couldn't have been happier to find this restaurant and enjoy one last lunch on our trip in Istanbul. The food was colourful, delicious and fresh. The service was efficient and friendly - thank you so much!

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
