Something different and delicious!

The variety is wonderful and they have plenty of vegetarian options. Excellent food and warm friendly service. Excellent place to have lunch or dinner after a long day of roaming the streets of Taksim

Hidden in a small street near Taksim, it is not easy to find. We had our gps to provide orientation, but locals will have an easier time finding it. Once inside, the service is nice, although sometimes too distant. We went there twice and both times were really happy with the food. From the meatballs (which are not really balls)... More

We based our decision to go here on the other good reviews. We found the food very interesting, if not always completely to our taste. I'd recommend Klemuri to those looking for a real Turkish meal. We're not vegetarians or vegans!

It was really nice, homemade type of food. We were getting tired of touristic food and prices, but this restaurant saved us!! So yummy yummy and yummy!! We still talk about this place from time to time. Definitely going back again whenever we visit Istanbul.

Tucked into a side street away from the crowds, Klemuri was a hidden gem. Its decor reminded us of eating in a French or Italian bistro. We split a bottle of wine from the Black Sea region and enjoyed our meals (steak for her, meatballs wrapped in phyllo dough for me). It was very quiet, and it felt like we... More

Having read the suggestion from LP, I wanted to come here, especially when seafood is the main type of dish served here. When I got there, I was a little disappointed that this wasn't the case, whether LP got it wrong or not I'm not sure, but what I later found out was that they change the menu regularly. The... More

This is a very relaxed but sweet restaurant just off the main strip of Istiklal Cadesi. The menu has lots of great vegetarian choices and more alternative Turkish options. We had a delicious cold yoghurt soap and an interesting take on pastry based ravioli. The service was excellent and we would have loved to come back for a second meal.

Definitely recommend this lokanta close to Istiklal Caddesi. It has local food specialties with a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes (I would recomment starting with the Mediterranean Plate!). Interior is sooo (!) lovely arranged and the staff is very friendly, speaking English fluently.

What a place away from the hustle and bustle. The food hear is very Turkish, but you see a lot of interesting dishes that you don't get at more standard restaurants. All my eating companions were more than satisfied with their food choices. Certainly somewhere to go for something a little different, as well as for excellent Turkish wines. Service... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
