Great Cafe / Restaurant for Quality and Hospitality

We have enjoyed dinner twice at the Anatolia Cafe Restaurant. On both occasions we have had delicious meals, of great quality, and value for money. The service is excellent, and the host takes pride in ensuring his customers have a great dining experience.

This is was by far our favourite restaurant in Istanbul. Yes it was located right by our hostel (Cheers) but that is by far not the reason we loved this place. On our first night out in Istanbul waiting for our friends to join us the owner invited us in for tea. He was very welcoming and struck up a... More

Went here due to the reviews off here and we were not let down. We were the 1st. customers of the day and greeted by a great guy who was warm and welcoming, the food is just divine, it's cheap, the service is great, it's one place I'll defiantly go back to when we go back to Istanbul. Try the... More

This was a quiet restaurant that surprised us. The atmosphere was laid back and peaceful. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent. There was a wide selection of dishes available and those we chose were well cooked and the portions a good size. Perhaps the highlight was their Aubegine dips. These were sensational.

We were searching for the best place to find a Testi kebab on our last night in Istanbul. A review on here from 2012 popped up and so we went - it did not disappoint! The staff were delightful, the food incredibly delicious (the sort of food that you can't tell what the ingredients are but they taste like magic)... More

Small selection of veg food but enough. Ordered the veg casserole to share, but it came with the smallest ever portion of rice ever. Ordered the haydari (yogurt with garlic and mint) but this comes with no bread but bread was served complimentary with excellent black olives marinated in olive oil, herbs and balsamic vinegar. Complimentary apple tea served also.... More

This little restaurant is a hidden gem. The staff are warm and inviting, the wine is incredible and the food is amazing. We spent many an evening here as it was close to our hotel, be it for dinner or just a glass of wine. The lamb casserole was by far one of the best Ottoman-style meals I had whilst... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
