We ate in the Anatolia Restuarant twice and found very friendly staff, excellent food and a very comfortable atmosphere.
Thank you Trip Advisor. My worthy, trusted travel companion. I came here after reading the reviews for this place. Great food, great service. Highly recommended. Try the cold meze platter to sample most of the cold starters on one plate and the 'Anatolian Favourite'; a chicken dish that is the house's speciality.
If you are touring Istanbul's Old City (Sultanahmet), you'll find plenty of "ok" places to eat - usually pestered by annoying "come in and try my restaurant" pitches. The Anatolia is on a quieter street behind the Bisilica Cistern, not far from the Sultanahmet tram stop (Divanyolu cad. Ticarethane Sok). Clean, comfortable, varied Turkish menu from fresh ingredients, good wines,... More
Great little restaurant (I do mean little). Delightful waiting staff, attentive, and great food. Around £30 for two courses each plus a large beer. On our first visit they made a mistake with our order - they resolved the mistake and gave us free liquors. We had two meals here, and both were excellent.
My friend used the Trip Advisor app to find this restaurant. Excellent location in the heart of Sultanahmet. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Unlike some places where the staff can be a bit pushy.Food took a while to arrive which we didn't mind. It was well worth the wait. Food was delicious. Very reasonably priced. Three people, three courses each.... More
We came across the Anatolia Cafe by accident, had a wonderful lunch, and came back a few days later for an even better dinner. When we returned to Istanbul two weeks later we sought it out for our best meal in Turkey. The staff is warm and helpful, the food is excellent and the prices are great. It's just a... More
There is more than one Anatolia Restaurant in Istanbul, however this restaurant was really excellent. The welcome was genuinely warm and the service was very good. We were a party of four and all of us enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious. We would certainly return to eat there when next in Istanbul and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Three men were running the show tonight, all very polite and friendly. The got hummus as starter on the house. It was delicious. My wife had Mesopotamian Chicken. It was still boiling when it was served to the table. It had a genuine taste but did not give have any surprising elements. I ordered an Octopus Salad. There was a... More
We stopped for a drink in this busy side street and were taken with the hospitality so stayed for a meal. It was excellent value on that and the two subsequent nights we ate there. It's not Michelin star just good food well cooked. The staff are friendly without being pushy and we'd thoroughly recommend this restaurant if dining in... More
