We had the Shepherd's salad and combo appetizer plate for two, our son had margherita pizza, great food and great service! Just steps from the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque.

Located closed to the mosques. Typical tourist street packed with restaurants and waiters trying to get your attention. Fuego was not different. But it was by far the best service. English spoken which is quite rare , friendly. Food was without a doubt good. Not the wow, but happy to return when in the neighbourhood. The typical kofte was of... More

Our guide suggested the Fuego as a good place for dinner. He was right! Our street view table let us people watch the crowds going by as we dined on delicious stuffed chicken and beef, lamb in yogurt sauce. We skipped appetizers to save room for great rice pudding and baklava both with small ice cream scoops. As we left... More

We stopped by Fuego after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and just had a fantastic evening. This is located on a street full of restaurants and there are servers waiting outside each place trying to grab your attention and seat you. We persevered on to Fuego. What we instantly noticed is that they were one of the only restaurants that didn't... More

My husband had the lamb kebab and I had the stuffed fish - both were delicious. The mezze starters were also very tasty and the staff were discreetly attentive without hassling you. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for dinner.

We came here twice. First time we just ordered tea and some cold appetizer. It tasted good. The second time we got a plate of hummus and four cups of Apple tea as complement as they recognised us. Their döner kebab and ottoman chicken casserole was the best we have hade so far

Just steps from the Blue Mosque you will find Fuego restaurant. We ducked out of the sun for a relaxing lunch in this lovely al freso restaurant (with free wifi) and were so impressed that we returned the next day for lunch, as well. Upon arriving, we were greeted with complimentary hummus and tzatziki. I ordered the shepherd salad which... More

Nice but we can't say it was more than OK. The food on offer in Istanbul can reach incredible heights of taste and quality and Fuego is of the descent, though average kind. Nothing bad to say really, the service is very friendly and the food is good, just not good enough.

No complaints from us, lunch was tasty and comes served on a platter with salads and rice, the secret being don't over order otherwise you'll pay for it. The iskender kebab here is pretty good.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
