We have found this place by chance after a visit to Galata Tower. It's amazing how such a peaceful and welcoming spot can exist right next to such a busy landmark. I suggest either sitting next to the Cafe's entrance (on the pedestrian street) or - if you prefer a more chilling atmosphere sit next to garden inside the Cafe,... More

After seeing the Galata Tower we wandered around a bit and stumbled on this place. It was just what we needed - calm, welcoming and great food. We ordered a few dishes to share including the Meze platter and were given lentil soup to start, on the house. Highly recommended...

We went for lunch on our last day in Istanbul and having read the raved reviews thought we would give it a try. Reading the menu on first glance I expected nothing too ec=xciting or different from typical turkish cuisine but boy were we in for a treat. We ordered the mezzo plate and the kofte with rice plate. It's a great spot located right by the Galata tower. The breakfast is great and extensive with beautiful preserves and fantastic hot dishes like eggs and pancakes. Come here to get full and enjoy the rest of your day!

A friend recommended Cafe Privato, since it was close to our hotel. We went there for breakfast one morning, and wish we could've gone back there again. The restaurant itself is very cute -- tucked away in a little side street off the Galata Tower. The owners are friendly and welcoming. What really stood out, though, was the food. The... More

It was a bit hard to find at first being located slightly nearer the Galata Tower than the map indicated, but the food was absolutely great! Especially the Lentilsoup and Mezze plate were very tastefull. Also, the service was really pleasant and proved to be helpfull with picking the right dishes on this first night in Turkey.

While the interior wasn't quite as sleek and spotless as what we are used to, the food was delicious! We shared Georgian pastry with feta and mint for entree and mini ravioli with tomato and yogurt sauce for main, and it was plenty for the two of us. The view on the Galata tower was nice provided you look past... More
