Decidedly below average, this place. Service was slow and rather muddled. Food – nothing whatsoever to write home about. Tried the stuffed squid, rammed with so many different molten lava flavours that the net result was it tasted of melted cheese and rubber and indeterminate other stuff. Swordfish was a neutral experience. Chicken tagine was a searing hot, watery schlop.... More

Our concierge recommended this little restaurant in Sultanahmet, just off the main drag across the Blue Mosque square. It is catered for tourists, and also a little expensive, but we were very happy with the quality of the food. They bring you the entire selection of mezze to pick from, and everything looked tempting so we ordered the mixed platter.... More

Really great food - and lots of choice for vegetarians like me, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

Been here a couple of years ago, things changed a bit, and they split into 3 restaurants next to each other with Semzen in between them: seafood (kayikci), steak, and kebab. Wherever you set you can order from the same menu, and food will come to you. Ordered Nazek Ali 32 TL and vegetarian couscous 23 TL. It was nice,... More

When I entered, I saw a proud sticker of 'Tripadvisor' but thought to myself: 'Don't be fooled. Your lousy Taskim hotel had one too'. Anyhow. I loved it. I love it when a restaurant gets a little innovative with regular traditional dishes. This is really not like any other Turkish restaurants. I had a unique dish of chopped steak on... More

My mom and I stumbled upon this absolute oasis for our last night in the city. The food was so delicious and atmosphere was great but the people made the experience unforgettable. They couldn't have been nicer and polite. Dinner was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to go back and see the amazing people again.

The most important element in a meal is certainly the food quality and taste. In this department, Kayikci was by far the worst experience we had in Istanbul. The rack of Lamb was just a few small bones with a lot of fat and no resemblance of ANY meat. When I mentioned it to the server, no offer to choose... More

We are a family of five, and we found that everybody was completely satisfied after the meal. We ate at Kayikci twice during our stay in Istanbul. The menu had many options, and the food itself was fabulous. The staff were friendly and constantly engaged with our kids. The location was amazing- on a quiet side street two minutes walk... More

Good food. Reasonably fast wifi. They give you a big puffy bread with your meal. We had two type of kebab and enjoyed. A little expensive, but its in the main tourist area.
