Really characterful spot for lunch

The food was delicious and varied, and the service was quick and friendly, but this place stands out for its lovely courtyard - full of charm and character. Loved it!

Stopped by here (50m from the underground basilica cisterns) for a lovely lunch. A great place to stop and take a break from the hustle & bustle of Sultanahment. Gave the chicken shish kebab and cheese/parsley water borek - both hit the spot, and reasonably priced for the area.

This place is lovely- beautiful gardens, friendly staff- we only had a coffee sadly as the menu looked nice and we would have loved to have come back in the evening when it was all lit up. Very friendly staff Worth a visit for a break from 'city' life. Would love to have seen their hypnos hotel.

This restaurant is small (esp in the winter months when the garden is out of commission) but the food was good and the atmosphere fun.

Splendid . Calm garden and really good food. A nice place for a family meeting or a rest after the city tour.

we were in Istanbul for 5 days and we went to Medusa 2 of those nights. The food was amazing and the waiting staff was absolutely adorable! We loved Yukap and everyone else that worked there. They made our trip amazing. Thank you!

Arrived at house of Medusa at 10.30pm. Was told the kitchen was closing in 1 hour and 30 minutes. We quickly looked.the menu over before selecting fish as our main. The service was prompt and my choice of sea bass was good. My brother didn't quite enjoy his calamari. Once it became cold and felt it was a little bland.... More

It was a green oasis with edible food. Nice service. The side streets and main street retardants were awful and so aggressive. They were not . The pasta dishes and salads were the best.

We feasted on Cherry dolmas, stuffed squash blossoms plus a variety of Turkish foods I did not see on any other menu during our trip. The cool garden was the perfect break from all of the historic sites that surround this restaurant.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
