I heard about this place on the Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show. Not in the usual tourist circuit, in the meat packing district, but well worth the trip, for meat lovers, obviously. It just so happened that is was not too far from the hotel were we were staying, and we decided to walk there. I would suggest the owners... More

Some of the best food we had in turkey. They are open during the day during Ramadan, but they look closed. The intestines stuffed with rice are a must as is the roasted leg meat. The homemade kanafa is delicious, but will put you into a food coma if the other delicious main courses don't. Interesting area to stroll round.

Sit amongst the locals outside in this awesome restaurant. Had the mixed kebab plate, very yummy. Was eating with a vegetarian friend (didn't quite realise that ocakbasi meant grill room in turkish...!) and was super tricky/impossible to eat anything without meat (she ended up eating a kind of cheese toastie). The kind turkish girls next to us translated the menu... More

This place is far enough from sultanahmet area where all restaurants are full of tourists and with no turkish people. The ideal place to taste turkish food surrounded by turkish people, food is good and cheap. I would definetly recommend it to everyone.

We went there because it looked delicious and we saw it in Anthony Bourdain's - No Reservations. Nevertheless, the waiters did ignore us for a while... and we practically had to stand up and knock on their counter for them to let us order. Meat was ok, bread was pretty good and the homemade ayran was delicious. Hope they had... More

As a young couple traveling through Europe the last two months, this restaurant was reccommended to us by a Turkish woman we met in Italy and we were very excited to finally visit. Unfortunately, it was the most dissappointing experience of our 2 month journey. We have found the Turkish locals to be wonderfully kind and gracious people. The staff... More

Originally we decided to go here because we saw it on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. We took a taxi to Fatih and got seats outside for lunch. We were seating next to a large table of men and when their food arrived (huge plate of kebaps), we asked them which one was on the menu. Although they couldn't answer us... More

About halfway through our day tour in Istanbul our best taxi driver Ihsan took us to a restaurant that Anthony Bourdain had ate at located under the shadows of the Valens aqueduct. When I saw Bourdain eating at this restaurant in the TV show they brought him all of these huge plates of food and were greeting him kindly and... More

Saw the Restaurant on an Anthony Bourdain program, and decided to give it a try and it was worth it! I ask for the exact same meal he had (Buryan Kebap), and it was really good!, the place it’s pretty nice, the attention is ok and the taste it’s awesome. What I really like about it, is that it’s a... More
