Wandering around the touristy area we stopped at Kosk for a tea. Lovely friendly cafe/restaurant with very good wifi.

Warm welcome; great service; good, classic local cuisine; fair prices We had 3 separate distinct experiences at Kosk and all were good. Having succumbed to a tempting display of baklava in a patisserie store window we were looking for a place to eat it and stumbled upon Kosk. They were fine to serve us tea and let us enjoy our baklava,... More

This was our local for the time we were there. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and they had menus in many different languages. When you asked for recommendations they would recommend based on your answers to questions not price. Amazing as most places steered you to their most expensive dishes. Mustfa and Fati were so wonderful and helpful... More

Street side breakfasts were unrushed and accompanied by pleasant conversations with guys who work there. It was notable to me for the fried eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice--and the staff's willingness to tweak the menu. Dinner on the terrace provided breezes and a fabulous view of the Bosphorus. I pleased to find tasty vegetarian options.

We really enjoyed our first meal in Turkey. Great way to start our trip. Walking through the city one is approached by many restaurants to try and get you to eat at their place. The people at Kosk helped us with directions.we figured we owed them at least a look at their menu. We're glad we did. Food was great... More

We had a lovely but simple lunch in this very friendly and helpful little restaurant. Bread straight from the oven, nice shady terrace on a blisteringly hot day, A welcome haven in bustling Istanbul. Nothing was too much trouble.

Slightly off the beaten track - and you have to brave the pressure from lots of other establishments to get there - but here's a lovely, genuine Turkish restaurant. Indoor seating or outdoor, generous free breads (a large blown pitta bread is standard) with free teas at the end of the meal. We found it to be good, wholesome food... More

We ordered sauced eggplant, stuffed peppers and a grilled lamb plate. First off the lamb plate was not lamb... The waiter brought it out and said "here is your chicken, er lamb." But it was actually pork. I guess they thought we had never had lamb before and wouldn't know the difference. But trying to argue in English and Turkish... More

We have had 5 days in Istanbul and this has been by far the best meal. The staff are very attentive but not pushy and the food is excellent. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and would recommend this place to everyone. The clay pot is worth trying as it tastes great and having it served at your table is... More
