We arrived mid-afternoon, it was pretty empty. Ordered the meze platter and wan't that impressed. We added lemon and oil to the hummus, the only thing that was pretty good was the pieces of eggplant and tomato sauce. However, the homemade bread they gave and the red lentil soup we ordered were tasty. We didn't order any entree's, so we... More

We visited Istanbul recently and close to our hotel in the old part of the city – Sultanahmet - there were many restaurants. But as we strolled down these charming streets, one restaurant stood out over all the others: the Aloran. The first night we saw it we had, unfortunately, already eaten but we promised the charming manager, Veysul, that... More

We visited this restaurant by chance after we had been hassled by what felt like hundreds of touters. We just made it around the corner and were drawn to a this restaurant as nobody was pressuring us to come in. We were greated with 'puffy bread' and had a fantastic Turkish meal full of wonderful flavors. We found this restaurant... More

We had a lovely night at this restaurant. It is on a quiet corner just off the major street and was a nice break for the hustle and bustle. The food was delicious and we would suggest the testy chicken, cooked in a pot. We loved the combination of Turkish and Ottoman food. The staff was incredibly friendly and was... More

We came across Aloran restaurant by chance when looking for somewhere for dinner. We were enticed by the testy pot dish being opened on the street for other diners. So happy we decided to eat here - so many delicious flavours and super friendly staff. The Turkish delight and apple tea on the house topped our night off nicely. Highly... More

Walking past we were wowed by the display of the tasty pot being opened and then the amazing aroma. Sold! We dined and thoroughly enjoyed our meal as well as the lovely staff who waited on us hand and foot. We have a new appreciation for turkish delight...which came free at the end. Yum!
